Several questions to answer: 1) What is your favorite soft drink? 2) Do you call it a "Coke", the actual drink, "Pop", or something else 3) Do you like it from the can or from a plastic bottle or 2 liter - in other words, how do you like yours fixed? For me, my answers are as follows: 1) It used to be Mello Yello no doubt and I still enjoy one from time to time but they are getting harder and harder to find so I started to get back into Coke. I'll drink Pepsi if I have to but I won't be happy about it. 2) I usually call it the drink itself and occasionally a "Coke" even if it is not a Coke but never Pop or anything that someone from up North would say. 3) For coke, I like mine from a cold can in a glass with ice. Fountain drink cokes are really good too. Coke straight from the can is not very good but drinkable as is drinking coke from plastic bottles and 2 liters. When I was in my Mello Yello phase, I had to drink them straight from the aluminum can. Any other way and it wasn't the same drink.
Coke is the original and best to me. I prefer when it comes bottled. It seems to taste better. I hate the diet and no sugar types because I feel the added chemicals are worse than regular to fool the body. I feel the best Coke version unfortunately got cancelled in 2017 due to low sales and it was Coke life. It was the absolute best to minimize calories with natural sweetener called stevia which I felt was the best compromise between regular cola and lower calorie
1. Hanks Gourmet Root Beer 2. Root Beer 3. Bottle My second choice would be a Cicero Salted Caramel Root Beer - unfortunately it's hard to find around here.
The occasional fountain Coke/Barq's/Dr Pepper from a couple of places around that have the little rabbit pellet ice, as a habitual ice-chewer this is key. If I'm buying something for the house/cocktails it's Mexican Coke, Topo Chico or Bundaberg Ginger Beer. And yes, they're all called "cokes"
Orange soda (Fanta/Sunkist) is the favorite, followed by Mountain Dew (Mellow Yellow), then Coke/Pepsi/RC Cola. I don't mind any of the varieties in each flavor. From the can is the freshest/most carbonated. Has to be cold. Ice avoided as much as possible. Watered down is terrible. Call them by their real name. Nobody can read your mind.
In these parts, it's all called Coke. The question is "what kind of Coke do you have?" not "what kind of pop" or "what kind of soda" All kinds of canned Coke tasted better in the 80s, and taste better now abroad than in the US. HFCS and changes in quality, it's just not very good anymore. Dublin DP or mexican glass bottle Coke is a decent alternative, or every once in awhile when they release the "Throwbacks" that have real sugar. But it still is not as good as it was back in the day. I am ok with the Zero lines of drinks. The Dr. Pepper/Cream Soda combo is a game changer, and Canada Dry Zero is very refreshing and doesnt taste chemically.
I don`t drink a bunch of soda, but when I do Original Coke in a bottle.......on a hot Texas day that hits the spot, you know its good when that first chug burns as it goes down I like Orange Fanta with Grape close behind Dr Pepper and MD round out my favorites
My go-to is 10% regular Coke 90% diet Coke from a fountain, but my absolute favorite is either Cream Soda or Black Cherry Cola. Sometimes I'll mix them.
1. Cherry Coke, followed by Dr. Pepper, followed by Mountain Dew 2. Since I would be asking for it as Cherry Coke... I guess coke, but I think generically I would call it soda 3. rarely get glass bottle anymore, but I liked it so much it didn't matter... even from Five Guy's fountain it used to be so good. Now I mostly drink flavored carbonated waters like Topo Chico (WTF, a shortage?) with lime the generic flavored carbonated waters from Krogers. I cut way down to lose weight... at my peak I could easily drink a six pack of soda a day.
