If they are actually an active shooter they cannot claim self defense. If you haven’t actually observed them shooting at people who are not attacking them, then you shouldn’t assume they are an active shooter. Steer away from them and call the police to handle it. Words you hear from a crowd are not reliable.
Plus, regardless of what one thinks with respect to this case, no evidence was presented saying he was an active shooter.
The only person who can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun who is also a lawyer and has time to gather evidence of statutes being violated to meet threshold for action.

So a person who is attacked and shoots back in self-defense should be further attacked by a crowd based on a presumption of them being an active shooter. That is insane to me. Just asking for more people to get shot. Don’t attack someone unless you know them to be a threat. Be doubly cautious if they are armed.
