strange how he is apparently overplaying vets when Theis doesn't even average over half the minutes in a full game and Nwaba barely plays over 10 mins a game. overplaying doesn't apply here. wood, green, kpj all average the most minutes at over 30 mins which is the main 3 that currently need to be looked at
We don't need to get rid of KPJ. He needs a new role. I think most guys are trying to figure out their roles.
Im confused to this fact. Why would you play vets more in a tank? Somehow the Rockets are tanking but still cant get new players any run unless injuries happen what an ass backwards team we are right now lol I was told this team would be losing but we would develop guys but we get vets taking up too many minutes.
I'm on board with this. I don't think KPJ can become a starting PG. I think if he becomes a more efficient shooter and better defender he can be a starting wing. More likely he's a Jordan Clarkson 6th man combo guard. I'd like to see a starting lineup of wood tate gordon green augustine I agree with you that Augustine would help get green better looks. I also think the added spacing from this lineup would help green get to the basket. off the bench I think playing with a facilitator like sengun would really help KPJ too.
the only problem is Augustine has played minutes with Green, I actually don't think it made a bit of a difference. If anything Green seems to be playing better with Gordon
Would work if the goal is more turnovers and fewer assists. Would really help the tank and appease Jalen Green fanbois if nothing else, but it would make watching games a lot more painful for Rockets fans
I like the idea of the team pushing the pace. In halfcourt offense one can see the team struggle in the 4th quarters . The Rockets played other teams that had a go too guy down the stretch. Right now not sure who that is for the Rockets. Is it Wood, Porter Jr. or Green. I hope that we see a few more set plays/schemes, to look more organized in late game situations . KPJ and Green taking turns running PnR with Wood, Theis or Sengun. Both guards are quick enough to get by opposing Centers. The Rockets centers can roll to the rim, kick out if the defense collapses or go to the spots on the floor where they have shooting the 3ball better while KPJ or Green read the defense.
Rubio is an expert at passing and controlling the tempo. Chris Paul of course being the best right now but Rubio is no slouch when it comes to just being a floor general. He has a diff feel to the game and where to get players the ball like Harden, Paul, Nash, Magic, Lebron... Wall would be in the same category as Westbrook. I wouldn't trust Rubio to teach KPJ how to score but every other aspect of being a PG, I would. Wall is also a 40 mill player sitting on our bench. Rubio is like 17 mil. Love would be great for Sengun and Wood!
It is not that you have to get rid of him but the notion that not all young ones will develop the way you want them. You have to get rid of some eventually. Or tie them to bigger, bloated contracts. I am sure the organization wants to develop one of the backcourt players into an Allstar at least. That is a high order itself No team has kept everyone recently. Not the Thunder, not the Lakers, and the Rockets would not be the last.
No they aren't, they don't have any minutes to judge. All we know is KPJ's shooting has declined for 3 consecutive seasons. He is a high volume, low percentage shooter which is clearly one of our primary causes for losses. KPJ's BPM is a whopping -7.2. Which is essentially you play him you lose territory. I think he is so volatile they are afraid to bench him and give JC or other young options a chance. Btw Green's BPM is -6.5 but he is a rookie with 10 games, it's KPJ's 3rd season and he has played 86 NBA games. Green is on average better than KPJ. A replacement player for KPJ could hardly be worse.
Games in which the player recorded 50 points and 11 assists in a game; Kevin Porter Jr: 1 Stephen Curry: 0 Total Career Number of successful NBA games played; Kevin Porter Jr: 1 Stephen Curry: 999999
Rubio's an expert at passing whose assist averages don't come close to Wall's at any point of his career. Seems legit.
Apparently you're not watching him on the defensive end. He has made SIGNIFICANT strides on the defensive side of the ball. I have been very impressed - especially since guys with reputations like KPJ, and the offensive potential of KPJ, rarely concern themselves with playing defense at this young of an age - and some never do. I agree he seems to have taken a few steps backward on the offensive end. I'm hoping he's just in a slump but it could be that he's just not yet accustomed/conditioned for producing on both ends of the floor.
