Unfortunately I think you're right. That said though we still have to look at the specifics of the case and not consider what fame or infamy Rittenhouse might get out of it. I completely agree that an acquittal in this case might lead to more untrained people thinking they should go to someplace they have little ties to to and know little about thinking they are there to act as LEO. This is why the message needs to be that Rittenhouse isn't a hero and that him mom and Kenosha PD were horribly negligent in allowing him to be there.
Unfortunately, the specifics of the case (untrained teenager purchases an assault rifle illegally, then acts vigilante carrying it into a riot and shoots three, kills two) will be what people on the right focus on and elevate him as a hero. The right wing think guns, especially assault rifles should be freely available without any restriction. The right wing think private citizens should be able to patrol the streets carrying weapons. And the right wing think that laws protect those that shoot undesirables... and especially those protesting for things not supported by the right wing. rittenhouse will soon be on fox news.
You consider them white nationalists. You consider their number insignificant. You consider people that support groups like that white nationalists. Now.... when the former President of the USA and probable current front runner for the 2024 GOP nomination supports them - isn't that a big problem?
Prosecution is getting trounced. This is honestly embarrassing. Don't even think the defense needs to present a case. The Prosecution's witnesses are doing it for them. Can't say that I've ever seen anything like this in a high profile trial
The third person who was shot (non-fatally), by his own testimony, was trying to close the distance between him and Rittenhouse — not run away. So, yeah, I don’t know who he’s referring to that was running away when getting shot. The guy with the skateboard clearly wasn’t, and there’s no indication that Rosenbaum was either. https://www.npr.org/2021/11/08/1053567574/kyle-rittenhouse-trial-gaige-grosskreutz-testimony-kenosha Video evidence shows Grosskreutz stopping and raising his hands, his pistol pointing in the air. Grosskreutz testified that he saw Rittenhouse re-rack his rifle to load a new round into the chamber. "In that moment, I felt that I had to do something to try to prevent myself from being killed or being shot," Grosskreutz testified. "I decided the best course of action would be to close the distance between the defendant and I, and from there, I don't know ... wrestling the gun, detaining the defendant, I don't know ... I do know that I was never trying to kill the defendant."
Shooting victim says he was pointing his gun at Rittenhouse "It wasn’t until you pointed your gun at him, advanced on him … that he fired, right?” “Correct,” Grosskreutz replied. The defense also presented a photo showing Grosskreutz pointing the gun at Rittenhouse, who was on the ground with his rifle pointed up at Grosskreutz.
More than likely that is on purpose They only did the trial for public appearences The Fix has been in since the start This is where we are in America I don't even have the EXPECTATION OF JUSTICE Rocket River
I don't think a typical DA wants to tarnish their own career. It's harder to hide stuff nowadays like the Duke LaCrosse prosecutor did way back then. I just don't think he murdered according to the technical law. Morally wrong and the law shouldn't allow him to do what he did? Those are debatable issues on what justice should be.
Exactly If Jamie Lee Curtis pulls up a shot gun and points it at Michael Meyers, and Michael Meyers hacks her with a machete, it was self defense for Michael Meyers @Xerobull
There definitely will be more riots in this country as time moves forward. That's what happens when wealth inequality grows to unsustainable levels. I mean do you not read history? This cycle of wealth accumulation at the very top, sporadic riots and then revolution is story as old as human civilization. In 20 years if you are still alive you are going to wish we just had a Bernie revolution rather than a violent one.
Is that kinda like the same mindset as making up voting restriction laws that give power to partisan state legislators to overrule the will of the voters and using the excuse that they needed to appease the people they convinced falsely that our voting system is full of fraud so they don't riot also?
Anyways, I see a career of LARPing and being on right wing YouTube channels for this kid. Bright future ahead for the high school drop out.
