He’s got good touch and pretty good form overall. Very smooth and fluid. He’ll refine it and get better and get better just with more shooting reps as a pro.
It's definitely not for everyone. Some should consider though, like the guys you mentioned, but won't because of the embarrassment.
Stephen Curry talks about how he had a funky form and wasn't that good a shooter. He said one summer his dad made him practice all summer to change his form and work on his shot. But I guess it could be that he had it in him because of his dad, but he still had to work at it.
It’s like being a great golfer. You have to have natural touch but you also need an insane amount of repetition. Ray Allen was apparently a mad man about it.
He had three games where he totaled 0-20 from 3. He’s young. He’ll have his frustrating games, but so does Harden in his 30s. G-League ran a short season. What I’d like to see most from Green is the ability to draw more contact.
He has alot to improve but as long as the kid has the drive to improve. This is why I still think a guy like Eric Gordon would be great to still keep on his side. However, Keep John Wall away from the kid. Even if we have to make John wall sit in a luxury penthouse at the golden nugget all season. Keep the guy away and let him learn how to shoot properly with real shooters.
Maxey is shooting 30% on 1.2 attempts Green shot 35% on 6 attempts in GLeague He shot 36% in high school as well so pretty consistent there imo. I'm not a shot expert so I cant really comment on form but you shouldnt be comparing the 2 in terms of 3 pt shot lol. Maxey has a broken J similar to Thybulle and Simmons.
High elevation is actually a bad thing. You more consistent when you don't elevate that much. Kama watch him tho. His release n kpj's is a concern to me. Man I wish kids would have them fundamentals earlier. I hope he gets with the guy that worked with lonzo right off the bat
You want high elevation when a defender is in your face. If you have a clean look, no need to get too fancy. A number of Jordan’s clutch shots were with him high in the air.
The kid is rail thin .... not a heck of a lot of upper body strength , I think as his body fills out , he can clean up the mechanics and shoot a consistent solid percentage. He's 6'5" 180 .... I'm 6'4" 205 and pretty damn thin myself. When I was 18-19 I was probably 175ish .... & when your muscles are that long , there's just not a lot of pure power in them.
