Hopefully, Correa will come back with a counter-offer but something tells me he’s feeling disrespected again.

I think it’s a good offer by the Astros but it’s not good enough for Correa. Don’t think the Astros have ever signed someone to an 8 year or longer contract and I doubt they’re starting with Correa.

It's a blah offer. But whatever. Time to move on without Correa.

I was ok with Carlos leaving if they won the WS, but since they didn’t, now he has to stay.

Hopefully, his wife checks that big ego of his at the door and forces him to sign here. Does he really want to pay those state taxes elsewhere? albeit, it would be funny if he signed his 10 year with the Rangers.

Doesn't his wife make, or used to make, vlogs? Something tells me if New York came calling, she wouldn't mind.

In terms of AAV, it’s more than fair. But, Crane knows five years isn’t good enough and continues to make offers in that range. If you are going to make a five-year offer, it probably would be need to be closer to 5 years, 200M to get Correa to back off wanting the extra years that Lindor, Harper, Betts, Machado and Tatis received.

I know Crane will spend and the Astros will be very good next year with or without Correa, but I don’t really consider this a serious run at retaining him.

The only player I would offer an 8-10 year deal on this team is Tucker... because it would end at age 32-34. He also doesn't have the knee concerns like Alvarez.

There’s no way this is his final offer when other teams haven’t even had the chance to make offers yet. At least I can’t imagine it would be.

I hope not, but at some point, Correa will probably get frustrated with the five-year offers from the Astros. Crane needs to meet in the middle at 7/8 years or offer a substantially higher AAV on these shorter contracts.

I think it's a fair start because of the money per year. I'm sure Correa's team will counter and they can work from there. 32 million a year isn't disrespectful

That's a final offer if I ever saw one. It will get laughed at by Correa. And his team should destroy it publicly, which they will. They won't want anyone to think they can get away with that kind of BS offer. It's not a good look and every other Astro knows it. This is going to be an exodus for a while. Sad. But that is our direction. We aren't bringing a gun to the gun fight.

This maybe our top offer, but if it isn't, my guess would be 6YR/195M.

As for Correa, what he needs now is to get the "Astro" brand behind him. And that only happens in NY. It has to be NY. Everywhere else he will likely get lost in the shuffle. But in NY he will be the toast of the town.

For who? Correa would be leaving AT LEAST $100,000,000.00 on the table if he took that offer.

It was brought up that the Yankees won’t want that cheater on their team because they are better than that and we’re especially harsh in their comments of being cheated when the scandal was exposed. In other words, welcome to the Yankees!

Yea you want to sign that 10 year now because, in five years, you’ll be bouncing around on one year deals while experiencing declining returns in performance.
