Damn, he'll say because of the length but the annual salary is what he's looking for I would think.

Very good offer from Astros. Other teams out there will beat it and offer 300 million over 10

Correa will probably counter but I wonder if this is Crane's final offer.

It's a good starting point for the amount per year but everyone knows 5 years ain't going to do it. After Correa rejects it a counter offer should be longer but have an opt out or two and less money on the backend to increase the likelihood Correa could opt out later on. Correa knows the finances well and that 5+ years from now average salaries should increase so he should want to have the ability to make more per year with an opt out.

Not an insulting offer given the average salary, think Correa will consider for a bit but decide to go for something with more length. Would be surprised if he’s offered as much over a longer contract

probably so. Teams still remain stupid about the 10 year deals, no matter how often they backfire.

it’s hard to see him walk, especially after Springer leaving last year, but with Pena and Leon on the brink of hitting the majors, you could put that cash to use in some interesting ways.

At least people can't criticize the amount per year.

It's half of what it would take to lock him up....

Not a great sign that he's coming back

It was fun having Correa on the team but he's gone. 5 years is not gonna work with Correa unless he gets no offers

Let's see one of our rivals get crippled with a 10 year deal then, if he doesn't take it.

Obviously player is gonna take the biggest deal but…

There should be give and take from both sides. :)

    Less years, more money
    More years, lower money

Astros don’t want to go 7-8-9-10-13 years (and I don’t blame ‘em) so increase the value.
$160M seems light ($32M/yr not bad)
For sure think someone (and all it takes is one) will beat it.
