Wood & Green need to get stronger, they get pushed around at the basket way too much, Green gets lit up on backscreens & has trouble finishing strong w/ contact, Wood in the post is a joke, & KPJ needs to either learn to shoot the damn ball or stop taking so many stepback 3's like he's prime Harden. So far, Sengun & Tate seem to be the most consistent on both sides out of our starting 5 & that's saying something when Sengun barely has 10 NBA games under his belt.
Same thoughts, Becky Hammon is a steal. We should take the chance to hire her before another team does this offseason.
That’s true but I doubt that’s the reason for him, remember what javale looked like when he came in the league. He’s prob not working on it, which begs the question wtf is he working on cuz his ft shooting is atrocious
Might just work! Either way, all I'm saying is the team can't just be doing the same thing 4 mins and having the entire game reverse on them. Calvin is saying what I'm saying, they lost the game in that 4-5 minute span. I'm not even hating on Silas just pointing out just that I hope it's an area he gets better at.
Well of course it is going to be a long season. The Rockets don't have a franchise quality player on the roster. We all knew they are likely headed for a top 4 pick yet again, hopefully this time a franchise quality player will be available. Since we know they aren't going to be doing much winning, we shouldn't even be focusing on that. We should just be looking for the young guys developing. Green had a few good passes tonight, KPJ looked pretty decent most of the game, Sengun was both good and bad. That's what matters.
Against the winners of the west, with a healthy squad, no minute limits for CP/Book Green goes 3/14, CF cries he didn’t get enough shots Sengun gets 5 fouls in 22 minutes, his ass tore up from the floor up by McGee, CF cries he didn’t get more minutes The problem must be Silass They will get more minutes and touches as they improve. This is all apart of the process. The Rockets are going to suck, but as long as they look competent and show fight like the last two games, I’m happy.
Sengun did not have a good game today. Green was horrible. One of them is the #2 pick that we tanked an entire year for, so he’s going to be more scrutinized.
Can someone teach Sengun how to do a tight, fast, baseline spin to the cup WITHOUT hooking the defender? That shiit would never be called on the blacktop but in this wussy azz flopping league......you just can’t do that.
I like this team and where it's headed. But I'm not sure we're not at Christian Wood's ceiling right now. And if that's the case, a choice the team is going to have to make is whether he's part of the future plans. I know officially the line is yes. They see him as a cornerstone for the future and a budding star. But his actual play consistently fails to back that up. And so long as that's the case, I think you have to be open to moving him at the right price.
This team's supposed top three players all came into this season boasting about individual goals. Wood wanting to prove he is an all star. KPJ wanting to prove he is a PG and can score and average 10 assists, Green wanting to prove he should've been #1 and be ROY. And none of them are on track to attain those goals. I hope they are not still worrying about that and instead focusing on how to play team winning basketball and just trying to get better. Green and KPJ I have more slack for. Especially Green. But the way Wood plays sometimes is inexcusable. He doesn't appear to have improved from last season. He looks like the same player. Does not appear to be much stronger. His free throws are ass. He's not improved his playmaking. If he was on a team with established stars and he could just play a role he'd probably be really good at that. But on this team where he is trying to be the star player, he falls short. If he is in the Rockets long term plans they need these young players to grow up fast because he can't be the leader of a team unless that team is a tanking team like we are.
I agree with all of this, except for the fact that we don't have a franchise quality player. Green is that guy and will show it more consistently as the season goes on. Similar to Anthony Edwards last year. We're headed for a top pick again and should focus on development though.
Nwaba played..19 minutes, had 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, an assist and is actually one of the few intelligent defenders we have. In halfcourt sure he sucks, but you know who also sucks? Pretty much everyone lol. I literally don't know how any objective observer watches tonight and says "Yep, it's Nwaba" unless you're wishcasting Garubas blank slate - which is exactly what is going on here.
They play Denver and GSW next lol...also a b2b... The early season schedule is hell, even if we were a top 4 contender it would be a hell schedule.
