Cade is really struggling man. Doesn't look good. I still believe that he and Jalen are the highesat upside guys in the draft. If Cade gets hot from 3 one game, we'll see what he really has to offer. Maybe it doean't work out with Cade, but I totally see why Weaver and Stone took a chance on these top two dudes rather than going after mobley, suggs, or barnes.
Cade has zero bust potential If his bbiq goes stupid he can still shoot 3s If his shot gets fultzed then he’s still a 6’8 playmaker
He's 6'6''! And while I agree he almost certainly won't be a total bust when you pick at #1 overall the outcome of a bench player or even an average starter still seems like a bust.
Cade with a good game. he was still struggling with his shot, but he looked comfortable when they let him run point. Why Grant and Hayes are allowed to handle the ball, I will never know.
I’m shocked that while most experts give guys 2 to 3 years to get their groove, fans on message boards seem ready to cut and release 19 year old rookies who struggled in their first half dozen games…
Looking at the box score it seems like he had a good game. His shooting is the least of my concerns. I think eventually he will find efficiency. As long as he is getting to his spots I'm not worried.
Cade's shot still not there (4-17) but had his best all-around game (11r 4a 3t 9-10ft). His 1st double double I do believe. Funny how when he plays a bit better his leg is "suddenly" good enough for his minute restriction to be lifted/lessened!
Especially when my expectation of my fellow Clutchfans colleagues is generally of a high Basketball IQ… I hope we don’t turn into an ESPN clone messaging board; where Jim Rome takes and bravado outlandish comments permeates the replies…
he can’t buy a bucket when it comes to shooting, but he’s a good shooter so it will turn around eventually other than that, he does look good out there this was basically his 3rd preseason game interested to see how he’s doing 20 or so games into the season
I don't think Jalen is being disuaded from getting the ball, he just doesn't have the skills yet to run an offense full time. Cade is taller, longer, stronger and heavier than Jalen and has more experience with the ball in his hands. He even shot better slightly better than Jalen tonight 4-17 v 3-14 ..gulp!
Young players don’t shoot for efficiency. Most are volume shooters. If you look at the better players, once they learn their game, they pick their spots and become efficient. Jalen, Cade and all these guys are still learning their game. They’ll be fine.
Here are the TS% of all rookies who shoots more than 10 fga per game: Cunningham .294 (yike! -- relax, only 2 games sample size) Green .480 Mobley .542 Barnes .585 Suggs .426 Wagner .597 Mitchell .450 Duarte .548 Compared to these guys in their rookie season: Kobe .544 LeBron .488 Durant .518 Westbrook .489 Harden .551 Curry .568 Davis .559 Giannis .518 LaVine .515 Doncic .545
Haven't caught any Pistons games with Cade, yet. I need to watch some before the Cade v. Green match up.
