The dad is 60 years old....never underestimate old man’s strength. This reminds me of “ Good Fellas”. When Tommy, Jimmy and Henry killed the made guy Billy Batts. They put the body in the trunk and buried the car. They did not dispose the body properly and later on got nailed for it.

If the father went the Old Testament route and chopped up the body into 12 pieces and sent them to 12 different locations. He would never get caught.

That whole area of Eastern Washington/Idaho/Montana is lunatic-central.

The only victim here is the girl.

The issue here isn't desiring to punish these people aggressively.

The problem with vigilante justice is that the angry mob gets **** wrong all the time. That's why we have trials and constitutionally every citizen regardless of how heinous the alleged crime is, has the right to a fair trial.

I don't think we know enough to say if he was a good father or what. Children, especially teens, are their own people and sometimes you can do everything right and still things go sour.

As for the murderer, yeah I'd probably want to do the same. But, you still have to put him in prison. We don't want vigilantes running around dispensing justice in their own eyes. I actually credit him more for feeling enough remorse about it to confess to friends. I'd like to fantasize that's how I'd do it -- kill the little punk and then walk to the police station to take my licks.

That's actually different and protected by the law. You can used deadly force to protect yourself and people you are responsible for. This actually happened a month after he recovered her from the bad guys.

Yeah completely different. Just reminded me of this story.

On a side note (perhaps a weird notion) I find it so odd that humans can go around hurting people like this. Whether it is rape, molestation, etc. I have thought before how often do you walk down the street or drive by someone that has done something like this and you don't know. Going through history with people in power going to war or battle and using that for more power and money.

Nice to see posters from both sides finally agree on something on this board: the law doesn't always apply in highly emotional situations.

    Stay principled, numbnutses.

Bullets are cheaper than paying for someone in prison. Not guilty for me.

A lot of our social rules/morals/laws are intended for everyone to get along with the limited resources we have. People have decided they can't accept having rapists or child molestors among our neighborhood vs having a white collar criminal who devastates 10000s of families.

It's more visceral and human than logical. Goes back to our communal roots than how cityfolk currently live.

The idea of celebrating the murder of anyone is pretty sad. This isn't justice, it's revenge.

The bf is reprehensible and should have gone to prison but the father has no right to take his life. And it's a stupid reason to have to go to prison for.

Nope, If the legal system won't put a person like that in jail that sold my daughter into sex slavery, I would make sure they paid a price even if I I had to go to prison. I probably would have killed the the traffickers also.

How do you know he wouldn't have ended up in jail?

I obviously don't know all the details of this case but I'm saying that if someone sold my daughter to sex trafficking, my patience would be pretty short for justice to be served.

As a father, if you were given the info as to who was responsible for the crime, would your first move be to plan his murder or immediately inform the police?

Completely disagree with this. Parents are just one part of the equation. Other authority figures, friends, circumstances, etc. all contribute to how someone develops.
