    Shoot, why dont we have:

    PG Ward/Eisley
    SG Houston/Postell
    SF Sprewell/Anderson
    PF Thomas/Camby
    C Mutombo/Knight

Then we can actually be the 2001 New york Knicks!

How about this for a strating lineup -

    PG - Yao Ming
    SG - Trade Exception
    SF - TMac
    PF - Jesus Christ/Mahatma Gandhi
    C - Boki Nachbar

Only slightly less likely than Charlie Ward/Kurt Thomas/Tmac scenario, IMHO.

McDyess?? Why in the world would anyone want McD's knee?? He hasn't played healthy in years, you're just asking for a Grant Hill contract. And Ward... he's a 3rd string PG. :D

    Franchise
    Mobes
    JJ
    New PF from trade exception
    Yao

    Mo/Cato/Nachbar off the bench.

    Here is my two cents.

MoT and Cato to Nets for a resigned restricted free agent, Kenyon Martin. The $ don't work now, but once he is re-signed they will. Their production is a push (Mot + Cato = KMart). Nets get an excellent eastern division center and PF, and we get an excellent western division PF. Good trade for both teams.

Do what you want with Stevie, because we could pick up spare parts for the TE and MLE. I also think if we do trade SF3, that Boki is just about due to become our new slasher. He will do major minutes at 2 and/or 3 next year.

    Projected Line-up:

    1. Francis, Troy Hudson(FA)
    2. Jim Jackson, Cat(6th man),Pike
    3. Boki Nachbar, Cat, Pike
    4. Kenyon Martin, Spoon, PF-to-be-named
    5. Yao Ming, Center-to-be-named

We getting CLOSE to a Championship caliber club!

I dont want Howard. Am I the only one that notices that he loses every place he goes? We need guys that know how to win. Howard is nothing but a rich man's Mo Taylor.

A rich man's Mo Taylor? And what exactly does that equate to..? An even MORE automatic 18ft jumpshot? If that's the case, the teams who keep paying "rich man" money for him are pretty much fools.
Which must be a lot of cash, since Mo makes a lot of money for being a poor man's "Juwan Howard".

As for the projected lineup. Hmm.. I see a lot of JJ in starting positions. Seeing, how he tired out when the playoffs came, and he is getting up there in age. What say we make him our 6th man, lessen his minutes? And bring in Boki as our starting SF, and truely give him a chance to improve and grow? I think he deserves some more time, definitely some starting time. Atleast at the beginning of the season, to see how he fairs.

    Brent Barry
    T-mac
    Boki Nachbar
    Yao

I'm really at a lost to the PF position, not sure if we'll keep Mo, or if we'll use him to obtain a better or more balanced PF. Or maybe as some have speculated, use Cat(assuming we get T-mac with just Steve and Cato) and Mo for Al Harrington and Scott Pollard? Not sure if the numbers match etc But, it'd be nice if a possibility. Personally I'd rather keep Cat. Who else could we get for Cat? We'd still have Pike, I doubt the Bobcats will pick him up. And whatever other player we'd get along with T-mac.
Hmm.. still leaves quite a hole at the PF spot. Could Scott Pollard pass for a starting PF? Didn't see much of him ever since he left Sacramento. But ,what I saw of him in those years, he was a pretty damn good back up PF, hustles and with a nicely balanced game.

this is my dream and realistic line up as of now...

    G. Payton / Francis
    Francis / JJ / Boki
JJ / Boki / Eddie Griffin
MoT / McDyess / Eddie Griffin
    Yao / Cato / McDyess

And yes I am serious about EG. I am hoping that we sign him in the summer but sit him at the end of the bench untill he proves himself worthy of playing more.
