I can't agree with that until I've seen him play in an NBA offense, no rookie would succeed in this no PG rec ball bullshit.
but there have been some good plays set up for him and he’s still crap. watch the tape. he had a nice pick set for him on the right elbow, he got the ball with a clear lane and just awkwardly bumped the defender that was sideways for an offensive foul. then Ja’Sean got him a wide-open corner three —> bad brick. etc., etc. Silas is mediocre coach and a terrible leader. But this is not all on him, the "backcourt of the future" has been terrible at basketball, executing simple basketball tasks. Which is not surprising at all. CF has to reconcile its collective cognitive dissonance: the marginalization of John wall and Eric Gordon which everyone was excited about leads to terrible basketball. no way around it.
Steve Francis was like 21 or 22 when he entered the league. He had already played at least two years at San Jacinto College and another at Maryland.
Ice seen opposing commentators rave about Green also. Opposing team commentators will rave about a rookie over one fun play by them. That's how it works. A lot of putting down one rookie to prop up another in this toxic fanbase so I hate when I do this but Sengun has had a couple of rough outings lately and has been far more turnover prone than Green lately.
Wait when Jalen actually puts some good games together around mid November. Those coming here putting themselves out there and railing against Green are going to have their heads explode. It's a long season.....76 more games to go
while the jury is definitely out on a guy with an 8 PER who has a lot to learn, francis was 3 years older when he started. rookie francis is literally october 2024 green.
And yet Green may still win ROY of the year just like rookie Francis: https://sports.yahoo.com/nba-rookie...arly-lead-among-talented-class-175622496.html
Sample size is so low, literally two consecutive hot shooting nights from Green would propel him back into ROY contention. So all this doom and gloom is utter bs. I'm not making a judgement on any rookie on this team until after a full season of play. In the meantime I'll express my excitement for any improvement I see along the way.
Then don't draft a kid at number 2, pick someone that is more certain....Green is about as big of a risk as you can get....he might be great, he might be average, he might suck. With the number 2 pick you should get as SURE A THING as you can. DD
Im actually feeling relieved that the most vocal Green detractors have a history of being on the wrong end of their supposed abilities to spot talent so hopefully they keep it going - eating crow and a little pie in the face seems to be an enjoyable activity for them. To each their own.
