I think Urquidy will be fine to start game 7. It was 1 not stressful inning on what was likely his bullpen day anyway. 2 full days off and then he can go. I'd be fine if they started Greinke, though, with Urquidy prepared to come in for some innings after. BUT, all of that depends on what happens tomorrow. If we get dominant Luis Garcia and don't have to go to the pen too much, then everything sets up well for Friday. If not and they have to go early again tomorrow, it's going to be very tough. We hit Fried in game 2 and I feel like we'll hit Anderson this time around at home.
National media talking about Braves having pitching advantage and just the guys they want for 6 and 7.... Uh, maybe... or maybe they have more name recognition? Comparing Fried/Anderson and Urquidy/Garcia... Era Braves 3.28 Astros 3.43 Whip Braves 1.15 Astros 1.10 K/9 Braves 8.65 Astros 8.82 Astros numbers include dh.... Seems comparable... And yeah, Anderson dominated but he was falling behind counts. Fried got relatively hit... I think it's about even...
I had not seen this video before, but last night really stood out as a day that his slider was more sweeping than normal.
Not trying to jinx here but was thinking about the DH and Greinke... If there's a chance game 7 to pinch hit him; i think i would just to get him in the box score... Would need the score to dictate it... This could be the end for him and it would be a nice gesture if possible...
I think Framber has seen his last pitch in the World Series. He'll play cheerleader from here on out!
backs against the wall just like the 2017 ALCS when we came back from NYC having lost 3 in a row. You can easily argue that the Astros should me coming back to MMP up 3-2 if not for the b2b jacks in game 4. To win this series, we will need memorable performances by our core guys and several dominos to fall our way. We need clutch fielding (eg, bregs crazy throw to home to get byrd out in game 7), clutch hitting (eg, Gattis game 7 hmr, McCann double in game 7) and our pitchers need to continue throwing strikes. I can guarantee the fans will bring a crazy energy to game 6. Go Stros!
My beard game is too weak to even manage that level of beard. We were there in our Correa/Altuve 2017 WS jerseys. The fans in Atlanta were extremely nice, except for leaving game 3 when one of them called me a b**** and cheating POS after the game. Slapped that $20something beer right out of his hand and kept walking.
I'm just going to bask in the glow of a guaranteed Game 6 at home for the next 24 hours before the inevitable anxiety starts to creep in after lunch time tomorrow.
I think the fans at MMP should do the chop chant but make the choking gesture instead of the chop....
Can't tell you how many times I mute the TV thinking it'll help the outcome of the game and my heart rate
