Although I don't watch a lot of soccer, it doesn't seem like anyone attacks like Maradona did. He just straight out went at you in those videos and engaged with the dribble. I don't feel like I see that anymore and there's no reason to think, in my opinion, that someone else can't play like that again.

Still plenty of players that do. Messi and Ronaldo are the best examples, though Ronaldo doesn't really anymore. He's become more of a goal poacher. Mbappe runs at people. Neymar, if he stays on his feet. Mo Salah is just destroying teams right now.

Messi is the best example of it, though. Players like Maradona and Messi just know how to use space to their advantage better than anyone else ever has. They know how to move the ball in to just the precise right place that no one else can get to it other than them. It's really quite amazing to watch.

    True.

You could also make the argument that you don't see runs like Maradona would make as much anymore because of the way defenders go into tackles now. The days of taking players out is over and they defend more tactically rather than physically. Makes it harder to go on those runs when they aren't just dive bombing into the guy on the ball.
