Well at this point in the season I wouldn’t doubt it, everyone is. The old saying you can play hurt but not injured is most-likely applicable in Altuve’s case. Look at Brantley, Bregs, they can play but they’re all bothered by something by now
We should be stealing bases on D'Arnaud regularly. Everyone knows his arm sucks. I have watched enough Braves baseball games to know this team. They do get fired up by their crowd, but their crowd is also used to them choking away games. They will go quiet quickly. Half of these MF's in Atlanta are not even from here (including me). If we win today, it will deflate them. Trust me. Also, I want to add that the Braves don't even play in Atlanta, they play in Cobb County. It would be like the Astros playing in the Woodlands. What a fi*&ng joke. Please let us win this series.
Every player still playing is banged up. However, his struggles have to do with his tendency to swing at the first pitch, and his inability to lay off pitches out of the zone. Bregman is the one who has not found his legs since he returned after two months on the IL.
The other good chance they had to score was Altuve’s leadoff walk in the first. Unfortunately, Brantley hit into a double play back to Anderson. I know they had two on for Tucker with two outs later in the game, but two-out rallies are not as easy to cash in as the Astros have made it seem this postseason.
Technically its unincorporated, but its closest to Smyrna, GA near the Perimeter, which is Atlanta's version of 610. The City of Atlanta, geography wise, is very small. The Braves used to play downtown, but they wanted the city to foot the bill for a large real estate development, and the city told them to go to hell. So they suckered Cobb County into it. Cobb County approved a tax increase without putting it to a vote. As a result, all of the members of the County Board lost reelection, and the board was sued. Turned out it was a pay for play type deal. Braves made out like bandits, and the country was left holding the bag. I used to live in Cobb about 10 years ago; that area was relatively quiet. Now due to the stadium and the surrounding development, it is a traffic nightmare and property taxes have shot up dramatically (of course, Braves don't have to pay any property taxes. Must be nice). The reasoning they gave for moving, AFTER getting the taxpayer giveaway, was that their fanbase (i.e., white people) lived in the northern suburbs. Most people called BS on that reasoning, since the team never had issues drawing fans in DT. Plain and simple it was a money grab. The Braves are notorious for getting giveaways and kickbacks from local governments throughout their system. There was an article about it in either SI or the WSJ. The team is owned by Liberty Media, a giant media company, so they don't need any public money. Besides the fact I am a native Houstonian, this is one of the main reasons I don't like them and why I want us to win. If they were playing the Red Sox, I would be rooting for them too.
Thank you for the perspective. Glad we have Minute Maid park in Downtown. It makes easier for people to go to the game no matter where you live in the Houston area. Right move by Houston officials.
Looking at a few clips of him on the mound and also his MiLB stats, I have no ****ing idea why the Miami Jeters waived him: https://www.sportstalkatl.com/what-can-the-braves-expect-out-of-dylan-lee/
He will likely only face the lineup one time and the Astros won’t do jack as they’ve never seen him before. I hope I’m wrong on the latter part.
Yes, this weekend is stressful for me. Three games on weekend. Hope Astros bounce back. I just want to move on from the World Series and focus on stress free stuff.
Atlanta have yet to lose first home game this playoff. I think they are due to lose first one tonight. It’s hard to go perfect..
