I'm almost certain the travel day would be canceled if Game 3 in Atlanta is rained out and the series returns to MMP. That would help the Braves in Game 5 since they could send Fried out there on full rest, but it completely screws them after that. Their bullpen will have pitched all of Game 4 and would have to do it again in Games 6 and 7 unless they plan on using Anderson on 2 days rest in Game 6 and Fried on 1 day of rest in Game 7. Meanwhile, the Astros would be able to use Valdez, Urquidy, and Garcia on full rest in Games 4, 5, and 6 which avoids a bullpen game.
I think people focus on how managers handle in game tactics (fair enough since it's the most visible part of their job), but everything I've read indicates Dusty is very good at the actual "management" part of being a manager and that part of the job is probably much more important.
All games are looking like they will be played this weekend. Go Stros!! Astros in Atlanta Obviously we have other important business to attend to this weekend with the Astros in Atlanta today, tomorrow, and Sunday. All 3 games should be playable. Showers will end around sunset in Atlanta this evening, with clouds and temperatures around 50° for most of the game. Winds will be out of the southeast (blowing in from right field) around 5 to 15 mph. Game 4 on Saturday should again see any showers ending. Temperatures will be in the mid-50s, with a light to moderate breeze from right to left field. Sunday looks fine, with gametime temperatures in the upper-50s, falling into the mid-50s and light northwest winds (blowing out to center field). Go ‘Stros!
If it's windy, we-our hitters should focus on making good contacts instead of generating HR. Is this reasonable thinking?
The Astros are the best team at making good contact by far and sometimes the ball flies over the fence.
Checking the radar, unless a cell blows up game should be played with little-to-no interruption. The rain headed toward Atlanta is moving east northeast Weird looking storm. It's spinning like a hurricane with the eye being north of Chattanooga. The system is moving northeast overall
I ended up flying to Houston (from Denver) on Wednesday to catch game 2. When I saw the roof was opened, I knew it was going to be a good night. Unfortunately, I woke up with the worst hangover of my life and am still not fully recovered. I was planning on flying to Atlanta today for game 3, but tickets prices are absolutely bonkers. Ticket prices to game 6/7 are cheaper than game 3 in ATL. Guess it's all the hype from their first WS appearance since the 90s. Anyways, I think Astros take 2 of 3 in ATL and think we close it out in 6 games. I want a win tonight!
Flying out to ATL tomorrow morning, and yes nosebleed tix are $1100 before the fees! Hoping Sunday tix drop in price once we win a couple games. LFG Astros!
Drink a glass of water before bed after drinking. A hungover is just dehydration. Water works miracles when you wake up. Try not to drink anything 2 hours before bed. Bad for a prostate
Game days are always so long and far way for the actual game it seems. Especially when it's a bit slow at work. Ugh, lol. Let's ****ing win tonight and put ourselves in a good spot for the WS!
Not judging anyone for paying that amount to go to a World Series game. But man $1100 for a nosebleed ticket is actually insane.
