I don't think we're getting three firsts, let alone three firsts and change. I hope to be pleasantly surprised. I'm thinking two firsts and a second.
I think you guys will be upset. All the chatter in the news cycle seems to be from the Texans, which points to them not getting the offer they want, and points to them wanting to trade him at the deadline. Seems they're getting desperate. May sell short, imo. Hope I'm wrong. Reminds me of Harden, sadly. Where a player essentially leverages his way to one team, and one team only. If I'm Caserio, I'm telling Watson he better call Miami and have him up their offer, or be prepared to sit.
Hell no!! Hard Pass on Tua and honestly I’m not that big on waddle either don’t care that he’s from Houston. I want the 3 first more then anything everything else after that would be extra.
That’s exactly what Caserio will do. Of Caserio isn’t getting the deal he wants then this thing goes into the off season and if by draft night teams are still trying to lowball then….Watson would force the Texans hand by forcing him to play and if he refuses we would fine him. Texans hold the cards and Caserio knows this…and he also knows this move will define him here in Houston nothing less then 3 1st is what I’m expecting.
I hope so, and maybe I'm a jaded sports fan, but the smoke screens scream that we want to get rid of Watson by the deadline.
Naw let’s make the deal now too much uncertainty…especially if we are getting back 3 1st take the deal and call it a day
So much of this hinges on Watson and his legal team. If they would settle the lawsuits, then that would change the dynamic. I'm sure the internal debate is do we want to play this year, change the narrative and move on or fight the guilty association with a settlement and have this continue into the offseason? From this board, he's already lost the court of public opinion. His reputation will always be tainted. So is it really about proving his innocence or saving money by not settling that's driving his decision-making? With the above cloud over any deal, I'm heavily leaning to waiting until the offseason versus taking a deal that isn't maximizing his value. If Watson's team is working on some kind of settlement, then that would likely open up the market and increase the likelihood of us getting a bidding war on. We just have no clear indications (except one insider speculating that something may be happening there). Also, if I'm a team trading for him, besides the above I would want some kind of personal conduct clauses written into his contract. This could be part of the negotiations with a trade partner as well. Needless to say this is a complicated situation and deal to negotiate from all angles. If Watson settles, that would remove a huge negative (potential trial/outcome) from any acquiring team's risk. A short suspension would likely just give him time to learn the playbook and get to know his new teammates.
From all recent reports Watson’s team isn't showing any of the slightest signs of settling. And buzzbee is trying to get them to settle and have a NDA and Watson and his team are declining it. So from all recent indications Watson isn’t planning on settling and don’t want any parts of NDAs being involved. But what has been big is Watson opening up his list of preferred teams by recently saying it isn’t necessarily Miami or bust.
Thats huge because recent reports where stating Watson and his team would waive his NTC for several teams not just Miami.
