That makes sense. I'm stuck in the AL mindset and I didn't consider needing to pinch hit for the pitcher. Marwin is not exactly a good option, but he's better than Stubbs. I think I'd rather Greinke hit at this point
I don't like how many people are picking the Astros...what's with all this praise, the Astros do best when they are hated...
Well, the Astros theoretically SHOULD win this series even without McCullers. So I don't exactly blame most of the "experts" for going with that pick.
Lot of people are picking the Braves too though. Not as many from what I gather, but still it's not like it's 100% Astros. Maybe 65-70%.
The Dodgers had they been healthy MIGHT have been able to beat us. But, the injury riddled squad that Hotlanta beat wasn't close to that team....and I don't really think the Braves are either. They've been playing over their heads, which is nice, but will usually only take you so far. Even without Lance, we have young guys stepping up and spinning gems out there. Framber, Garcia, and Javier ( he needs a start). The bullpen is looking strong. We get 80-90-% of what we've already seen, and our Murderer's Row of a lineup will take care of the rest. Astros in 5.
I'm not going to underestimate the Braves like I did the Nationals in 2019. Anything can happen. But it's our time! Go Astros!
Lance will look like Kevin Garnett in the '09 playoffs, he'll have to be restrained to prevent him from pitching. That Cody Bellinger clip still cracks me up. We wouldn't have "stolen" that ring if you didn't go 4-28 with 17 Ks. You want the ring back? Take it. Spoiler And don't lose in humiliating fashion to a team with half its roster on IL.
Greinke needs to give us something out of the bullpen. The guy is a likely HOFer, really disappointed how he faded this season.
Most of us are thinking like the NLDS series where Castro PH for Maldy in like the 5th or 6th inning because Stubbs was on the roster. It is even more likely with the Atlanta games.
