I am continually surprised that an elective class taught in the second year of law school has generated this much discussion ... all because white supremest snowflakes are getting their fee-fees hurt by the historical facts taught in K-12 and need to cancel-culture those oppressing facts.
I agree that not teaching historical, uncomfortable facts would be wrong, but I really don't think that's what started this whole thing. The questions (at least some) school district were starting to ask weren't about historical facts like "should we teach that the Civil War was all about slavery and had nothing to do with state rights." It was, "should we teach your first grader how to challenge power and privilege in society?" (actual question on survey I received from my school district 2 post above). I'm certain that the way history is taught is a big issue in some parts of the country, but I don't think discussion about how to teach history is what "lit the fuse" for this whole CRT thing. The backlash against Trump allowed more liberal/activist school board members to be elected, and that activism started seeping into schools and people noticed. From there, it kind of took on a life of it's own and neatly bundled up for the masses as "CRT."
again, thru sleight of hand, ur trying to muddy the details. while US Gov made an effort to identify German nationals as aliens, it automatically assumed that all Japanese Americans are aliens, very much in line the white supremacists ideaology white Americans are more American than non-whites the dizzying height of willful ignorance
So again why are they so scared about CRT in class if they don't teach about slavery in American schools.
What rock have you been living under if you don't think and treat black and brown suspects differently you really haven't been paying attention. Most of the youth of todays time don't even know about Roots. But they as you say it haven't died their grand kids are keeping things alive. https://local12.com/news/nation-wor...rculate-online-petition-to-bring-back-slavery
History class doesn't teach the truth about American history IE chris columbus it gives him credit for finding America which he didn't. That's just one piece of history that's been pushed in history classes that is not trust worthy coming from a whitewashed history lesson. https://www.zmescience.com/science/news-science/who-discovered-america-21102017/
History class teaches Christopher Columbus tried to prove the world is round and didn't know where he was. Where is the lie?
History class focuses on Columbus because it sums up for kids the scientific, political, and religious changes of the world leading to the United States. It's not just about giving one man credit
Christopher Columbus Never Set Out to Prove the Earth was Round The myth of Columbus’ supposed flat earth theory is tempting: It casts the explorer’s intrepid journey in an even more daring light. Problem is, it’s completely untrue. The legend doesn’t even date from Columbus’ own lifetime. Rather, it was invented in 1828, when Washington Irving published The Life and Voyages of Christopher Columbus.
This. The ancient world knew the earth was round. Early Christian imagery often shows Christ holding a globe of the earth, etc.
So by default that's trying to prove the world is round Devaluation of Columbus really works because history class is pretty straightforward straight forward about his intentions which were economic and his never understanding he hadn't reached the Far East
your false claim / lie like everything else, ur confused, all mixed up. Magellan proved that the earth is round. The Magellan expedition, also known as the Magellan-Elcano expedition, resulted in the first recorded circumnavigation of the Earth in 1522.
Read a book or 700. That is not true. He was not trying to prove anything other than he could find a new route(s) for trade. There was fear about how long it would take, etc., and that is why he was a trailblazer. But, again, the Christian church thought the earth was round.
The Christian world was threatening to execute people who taught the world is round History class teaches this. Where is your proof of Christianity knowing the world is round?
