The Devil is in those details. I (nor most others) don't know to what extent gain of function research led to covid, but even in the event that it did doesn't mean Fauci's funding of any sort directly led to creating covid. At worst, one presumes covid came from that Wuhan lab and maybe funding of any sort supported know how for making it. That'd be like saying any funding at Los Alamos led to the creation of the H bomb. It's just a bunch of random leads that maybe/could/might lead to a zero smoking gun
