Why don't any of these guys ever provide evidence or say what "the stuff" was? That's why the Astros are treated differently - it's not "someone was cheating somewhere". It's "these guys were cheating in this exact way, and here's how we know".

They don't give details because they aren't snitches.
It's the same reason the Astros haven't spoken out.

Not a former player but last night on a CBS post game, a host was about talking about 2017 and cheating scandal and they didn't need to do it and immediately his co host who was former Marlins president David Samson replied we were all doing it. Everyone was stealing signs.

They don't have to say who - they can say "other teams were using this method" or whatnot. ANY kind of detail would be useful - as of now, it's simply an accusation with no substance. None of these people have given a shred of evidence and yet people will jump to believe them ... just because. Why are these people any more credible than the idiots on the other side who blame the Astros and only the Astros? Or the idiots like the ChiSox pitcher who claim the Astros were cheating in their series this year? Both provide zero evidence.

It's interesting that its considered good to try to defend the Astros in generic terms, but providing actual evidence of other teams cheating to defend the Astros would be a horrible offense of "snitching".

Like I've said before the biggest thing the Astros did wrong was admitting that they cheated...by telling the truth they ended up screwing themselves...the truth shall set you free...nope...people hear what they want to hear...if the Astros championship is tainted then so is the Dodgers...those fools won in a year where less than half the games were played...

Stealing signs is not illegal - teams have been doing that for decades. It's the specifics of the method that made it illegal (especially after MLB specifically sent a memo about those methods that they were going to crack down on). That's why the details are important to exonerate the Astros. This generic "lots of teams did stuff" does nothing to help the Astros' case.

Guinea pig. I think scapegoat is a better way to put it.

All the biased media and Astros haters refuse to acknowledge that they weren't the only team doing something to gain an advantage.

Other teams have got caught and punished. Yet Stros are still the scapegoat. It does no good for these players to name specifics because it was so broad and the league isn’t going to punish others. They have proven that

I would like for the coverup to be unraveled so MLB would be held accountable.

But not to vindicate the Astros. It doesn’t matter that ‘everyone did it’. Cheating is cheating. It’s wrong.

There was once an unwritten code about spilling trade secrets. Fiers apparently had enough of an axe to grind to break that.

The Astros culture probably (most definitely) contributed to that axe… and if it wasn’t him, something would have eventually leaked out about the continuing to push-the-envelope cuthroat mentality that seemingly was going to continue to proceed unchecked.

We’ll never get another “total description of another team’s schemes” from a former player unless they want to be as ostracized as Fiers apparently has become (minus his role in Oakland).

This is also pretty much how the steroids scandal ended up being beyond just one or two players… to think that the Astros and Beltran/Cora invented everything without a hint of systemic issues is a stretch.

Then why didn't the Astros do it in 18 or 19?

MLB is the worst when it comes to making new rules and retroactively punishing players/teams.

Meh who really cares at this point… it’s obvious it doesn’t negatively impact any of them. I think it’s becoming fun at this point tbh, when we knock around teams and they don’t have anything to say but no facts slander. I think if anything it brings the team closer together they know they’re not real villains but they play along with the fun.
