I'm saying the Texans have not forced Goodell to make a decision. They aren't trying to play him. My bet is if ANY team tries to play him he will be placed on the CEL.

Historically, the calculus is that each year forward is worth a round. So a third this year, is worth a second next year, which is worth a first in two years.

The NFL is so cuthroat that if you add in two years (and several months) for the pick to come due, plus a year or two to develop into a real player, a whole lot of coaches/front office will just be helping their successors to make them look bad by trading for picks more than a year down the line.

If you stack two or three in a row, i imagine you kind of ignore that because you dont have any option otherwise.

    Who doesn't?

But if I had 20+ allegations and the owner had all the gop connections, I might switch sides and accept his help to get me out of it. That was Mr. Mcnair that had all those connections and respect. Local politicians, both sides, probably just laugh at Cal too. It ain't easy being Big Calhoun.

I mean, pretty much everyone should hate Watson....he's a serial abuser of women and rapist. Anyone who doesn't hate him after finding out the kinds of things he does to women would have to be a pretty terrible person.

    Then they shouldn't trade him.

He is lucky he isn't playing for the lions. He would have had to retire.

Exactly. Not doing him any favors if he isn't doing us any.

Exactly. I want him gone as much as anyone, but you don’t give him away. Period.

    Thought this was interesting... https://www.espn975.com/nfl-insider-on-imminent-watson-trade/

    - Lance Z says there may be some movement with Buzbee's clients in the background that could be helping a deal get done
    - Likely Miami talking to NFL about what to expect (suspension) so there are no surprises
    - Watson may also be looking for more money and Miami may want to extend his contract
    - Hearing 3 1sts and a 2nd, where others hearing 2 1sts + players
    - Being made public to get others to make offers and urgency

    Nice.

3 1st minimum anything else is just a plus but Caserio has to get at least 3 1st at the very least and I believe he will.

3 1st and a 2nd not nearly good enough for a young franchise quarterback under a lengthy contract. You can’t settle for that, you’d be better off waiting until next year.

LOL. Watson is in no position to be asking anyone for more money.

All that money we're paying him went straight to his head. Wants more and more and more. Hope he just sits on the sidelines until someone offers us a worthy deal. If that takes months, so be it. His no trade without his approval clause might just keep him sidelined longer than he hopes for. Next he will want a GM for a day clause to oversee who the team hires and fires.

Or maybe the anonymously sourced report is just incorrect.

Maybe, but he's still a jerk. Maybe, a whole lot worse than just a jerk, if ANY of those over 20 allegations were true.

I’d would rather take Christian Wilkins. Howard is good but I don’t see the point of getting a 28 year old cornerback that makes 15 million a year. He will be old or gone by the time this team is ready to compete.
