anyone willing to defend this? IRS wants to spy on all your transactions without a warrant

how is this sort of surveillance dragnet not a 4th Amendment violation?

Every single transactions? That’s too far but I doubt that’s the plan.

The bill authorizes the IRS to monitor all transactions for accounts with more than $600

    Question.

    1. What if the Russians or Chinese hack the IRS?
    2. Could they wire their accounts to China or Russia or Africa?
    3. Accounts > $600 are Contributing Members of Clutchfans
    4. Accounts < $600 are Art History Dropouts spending their cash on fake weed from China from their job as movie theater janitors

Of course it's not - this is the problem when you get news from Commodore whose only knowledge is re-tweeting things.

That said, the actual provision is still pretty terrible and needs to go.
