That trade was made to put an person behind enemy lines (Fields) because we knew they would put him in a spot where we could take advantage (ala back-to-back HRs in extras of Game #2 of the WS). Alvarez was the icing after we turned him into the T-1000 Terminator.
I’d imagine Rodriguez considering how well he pitched in game 3. But two things…. I don’t think it gets to game 7. And there is a chance they end up using Rodriguez tomorrow if Eovaldi struggles early
All I want is for the Astros to score 15 runs in the first inning...is that too much to ask...none of this bottom of the ninth heroics, I want it to be over quick and easy....it will never happen, but man that would be so ace....
I can't see that working at all. Catchers call the game, I can't see pitchers, especially inexperienced ones, calling the pitches. That's been a catcher's responsibility since the beginning of time.
The technology could easily allow for catcher/pitcher/coach to all call the game ... im assuming this is where it will eventually go
Yes they "chose poorly" and if you asked them if they'd like a do over they'd say "yes" with no hesitation. Every team has a bad trade(s) like this but it still doesn't take away the fact that looking at it now this specific trade was highway robbery and that's all I am saying. I made my comment and I stand by it so really you're the one who's making a "weird argument" and why do you care so much about my comment buck? You're not going to change my mind but you know what, the Dodgers sure would like to change their mind on the Yordan trade, the Red Sox sure would like to change their mind on the Bagwell trade, the Astros sure would change their mind on the Morgan trade. Yes they all "chose poorly" but my point is however you want to look at these trades they were highway robbery. Now do you want to keep going back and forth about this because you'll be doing exactly what you're Accusing me of and that's making a "weird argument" and why do you "care so much about" my comment?
I just define Highway Robbery as one side COMPELLING the other side to do what they don't want to do. You're describing a lopsided trade where both parties got what they wanted and the results favored one side over time.
As radricky suggested, let's get back to talking about the Stros for crying out loud. Some of you have to pick apart every freaking comment in order to be right.
Good idea. I respond in order before reaching the end of the thread. That's why you see several post of mine at a time.
Framber was simply channeling all the Astros through him like in Rise of Skywalker from JR Richard to Mike Hampton to Wandy Rodriguez... which is cheating.
