    Damn man.

I wish you came at me with the same sass you were going at others pre-game when they dared have tempered expectations of Jalen's numbers.

    What changed?

    .... oh... wait.

nothing changed, it’s the 1st game and you’re quoting me a bunch of nonsense as if Jalen Green is special for being bad in preseason and to start his rookie campaign

Do I need to address every single casual fan take now?

But Green made some sweet passes, mostly off PnR.

Ended up with 4 assists and 4 rebounds.....but most importantly zero turnovers.
Showing progress in his reads. Yes Porter had a rough night....9 turnovers.

Problem is no one respects our 3-point shooting. That's why the Patrick
Fertitta dream of everyone being a ball handler sucks. Because usually
good ball handlers are not good 3-point shooters.....so all defenders
meet in the paint. Clogging up everything.

This is why I said Kenyon Martin over Tate starting. But Armoni may have to
be inserted into the lineup early and separate the Porter/Green tandem this
early in the season. Just too much rawness from the two facilitators.

All the creativity you insert gets snuffed out by the defenders clogging up the paint. Imo.

Yes the off ball screening will come but the timing on the simple plain vanilla plays
are presenting enough problems as they stand. Introducing wrinkles present
other problems. Resulting in more turnovers for Porter and Green.

In two weeks things will start to settle down and you will see more complexity.
Added dishes prepared by Porter/Green on the menu.

I particularly liked the part where you tried to clown a poster for talking common sense before the game.

But you don't even have the conviction to stand up and admit you were wrong and he was right.

'Casual fan'. Oh. There's a new word for 'hater' now is there. Gee, I wonder what word you'll think of next to describe those of us who continue to be right haha.

Nah man it's ok. Look I hope Jalen has a good game for your sake, you really seem like you need it.

Scooter had some guys leave him hanging dropping easy dimes himself. Passes are there for sure and like you said once they start having a feel for each other it should improve. Jalens preconceived 'flaw' in playmaking didnt seem to be an issue for him last night, but it has been on display before just a testament to the type of raw talent he has. He had a decent first game albeit with a huge - turned in (along with the rest of the team). Its the coaches job to find what works. Im hoping as the season unfolds he will be willing to do so. Need shooters around to make some shots. They seem to run the same PNR play over and over. Right elbow. Making it easy for the defense IMO. That's where the coach comes in and mixes things up a bit.

Im with you freaking out over one game is chasing the wind. Even after a few weeks this wont be the team that contends next season and beyond. Even if this team is the worst in the NBA this year its probably all part of the "plan".

Now this is getting funny. I can pull up the numerous rookies who had a bad preseason or started the year off poorly. Anthony Edwards is an easy example. But now I’m wrong because Jalen Green was bad in his 1st game as if I was ever even arguing that Jalen Green was gonna be phenomenal this season. Lol, what nonsense

    Now this is getting funny.

Dig up multiple 'experts' claiming he was a franchise altering players.

Heck, dig up these other rookies mentioning themselves in the same sentence as Kobe Bryant. Imagine talking all that and.... this is what you go and put on the floor. YIKES.

    Oops. Apples and oranges.

But that's ok. Shift the goalposts to fit your narrative, that seems to be the only way to justify Jalen at #2 at the moment, so hey I get it.

Be careful though, you're awfully close to seeming like a casual fan. You remember, us casual fans you talked down upon in your prior comment.

Wtf are u even rambling about? Why should I dig up people talking about him being a franchise altering player when I myself thought that was delusional and overhype? Do u even know what my takes on Jalen Green are, or are u just willfully quoting me ignorance? Seems like u just want my attention, or maybe 1 of my posts hurt your feelings

I remember your take in hammering a poster pre-game, because GASP, the poster said Green would have an average game at best.

I'm just pointing out how pathetic you looked.

And then you couldn't even stand behind your prior comment.

You made a couple of excuses.

And now i'm sitting here thinking your posting skills are the same as Jalen's on court skills.

    Ie: very subpar.

I am Sengun. You are Jalen. Class dismissed.

Hammering? Lmao, u call that hammering? Soft

but somehow Jalen Green being bad yesterday in his 1st game is proof that we shouldn’t expect him to average a measly 13 ppg or 1.5 apg as a rookie so now I’m wrong…that’s the stupidity you’re quoting me with…stop day drinking, because u look like a fool right now

    I haven’t seen that one.

Prediction: Jalen Green at 19- 13.1 ppg 2.8 apg 3.2 rpg 35% from 3 and a 33% chance at ROTY

    Game 1: 9points, 4 ast, 4 reb

Yes, and going back to Green, he could have end with 6 or 7 assists as
he made sweet passes to the Roll Men and they were hacked near the rim.

What I'm seeing is both defenders (1 guarding Porter or Green) staying
with Porter or Green while the other defender of the PnR hedges hard
and blitzes Porter/Green. In essence double teaming our ball handler
in PnR at the free throw line extended. Teams are not even giving Grn-Ptr
that 10 to 13 footer in front of the rim (FT line).

So the Roll Man is rolling uncontested right? Not exactly the other defenders
along the back row who are not respecting our corner shooters practically
have one foot in the paint. Eric Gordon was the only one the defense
respected last night going 3/4. Prt-Grn need a second deadeye shooter
to space the floor along with Eric Gordon. That n turn will give Wood
an extra half second to shoot his shot with greater ease. Sengun
and Theis may find more relief as well.

Green is on line with his 3; it just hitting front end to just grazing the rim.
I need him to shoot a little harder......about a basketball and a half length
longer. I feel both Prt-Grn are so focused on PnR that they are lacking
in the 3-pt department as a result.

I'm sure the weave play is coming and more of the double pin downs
up top in the next few games. More Sengun running the offense
along the top of the key looking for cutters/slashers along the baseline.
Especially if Armoni/Gordon/Wood can create spacing.

It's just hard to back screen defenders that have one foot in the paint.
It ends up 3 offensive players and 4 or 5 defenders operating in a small
space like an elevator. No bueno.

Armoni and Eric Gordon are the only quick release 3-pt shooters that are
somewhat accurate right now. And as far as the Armoni defense......
No one is guarding the point guard anyway. This is why I wanted
Bones Hyland. Lowry, Van Vleet, Murray, Holiday, Russell are getting in
the lane and doing whatever they want anyway. At least Armoni making
some 3's forces the opponents to inbound the ball. Lol.

    No why?

I do like our little talks. A Hannibal Lecture-Clarrise vibe to it.

    You were Clarisse of course

Good post overall but the red colored part is excellent analysis and the main reason why we're looking like ****.

The paint is SO jammed and we dont have respectable shooters to make them pay for it.

    Expectations:
    1. develop into one of the leaders of the team going forward
    2. develop a passion/obsession for improving his game and working hard
    3. develop his decision-making and ball security as a ball-handler
    4. take less superfluously difficult perimeter shots

I expect him to show more energy and intensity. Felt like he was drifting through the game.

I think the reason y some of these folks are so hard on green is cause it's been years since we got a prospect so high and they kinda but hurt the one they wanted didn't get picked.

I seen shttier players get more leeway and time before getting sht on. Green's situation isn't going to get any better, no veterans worth anything will want to play with us, our owner is a cheap ass (pending), coach is a rookie and has never been in this situation before.

We can only hope he blooms into a superstar, if it doesn't pan out there's always next year. Hence the life of a bottom cellar team.
