1st full season as a PG.

Reign in the knee jerk reactions and unrealistic expectations Rockets fans.

you either have playmaking chops or you don’t. KPJ just isn’t a natural playmaker.

Still it is an achievement on its own to play next to JG in his pro debut and look like a worse PG of the two.

Maybe we should give a call to our 40m guy and let KPJ learn of the bench. Since we do not really have an offensive system our young players probably would learn much faster playing alongside someone that has actually proven he can run a team.

You are incorrect. Porter player poorly for sure, sporting a dismal box +/- of -18 on the court.

Not even close to worst player.

Green was a -37 and Theis was -23.

Rockets were a +10 when Sengun was on the floor, for comparison.

That's the problem with eye tests.

    You saw it wrong.

there is nothing knee jerk about a player that doesn't feel the tempo, the angles.... Sengun is younger and has all that. KPJ plays in the nba for like 2-3 seasons and he still can't pass. Can he progress? yes. Will he be a good point guard? no, never.

He is combo guard and doubles the position of Jalen I see no point in keeping them both long term.

PS Silas is just ...... This guy is good for high school basketball head coach what does he even do in the nba? Did he get a job because of being a minority and Harden&Westbrook pushing him through? He is so sad to watch as a head coach. Last year he had all the problems and the vets and ok I get that rookie coach will have problems. But right now he has players who either are rookies, sophomores or 'second-chancers'. And they still play without accountability, no resemblance of system, he just ****ing smiles in the interviews and does nothing in game. Standing with a piece of paper like what do you have written here? "If we don't rebound tell them to play harder"

Sengun has better vision than 90% of the NBA. As a rookie.

No. He can handle the ball but we need to move him into the Harden role. Ball handling 2 with another pg at the 1 who can stretch the floor and handle some of the ball handling.

Fundamentals are just not there, he has a feel and skill as an iso scorer, but like many will and have come to realize he’s indeed not a PG! I rather start Augustin next to Green.

That is the only answer that matters right there....Tatum has years..........Porter Jnr hasn't even played 82 games yet. He is only 21 years old. It is crazy for fans to go nuts after the first game in a long season. It is all about Experience and giving players time to grow

Hence why single game sample size +/- is useless. Watching the game Green as the primary ball handler was far more effective and efficient than KPJ last night at least.

Oh it was very useful last night. Green didn't belong on the court at all. He was the worst player for either team and a few solid passes didn't come close to making up for it.

You had to be watching through rose colored glasses

He sucked last night. If he does it another 50 or so times then yeah he may need to go play some SF. People with their hair on fire and the "I need to be right all the time" vultures are just doing their thing and providing some early comedy.

I don’t get the love for Augustine. He is done. He has looked terrible all year. Right now you have two score first guards being asked to facilitate the team. That is the core problem. KPJ had a bad game. Saying he can never be a PG is ridiculous. He did pretty well last year in that role for the first time. He needs more time to develop as does Green. The real question to me is Silas’ the guy to do that. He doesn’t seem to have any feel for how to rotate and guys like KMJ who is willing to shoot and Garuba and Seguin who can actually play defense get less minutes than stiffs like Nwaba, Augustine, and Theis.

Green looked much better than KPJ yesterday. Yeah his +/- was terrible and he still doesn't fully understand defensive rotations but the effort is there and the skill is clearly there. His passes were great to rim runners. With Green you can clearly see the skill is there, he just needs the experience and knowledge.

KPJ, Wood and Theis you do not see the skill. You don't see the effort. Dont see the vision. They just don't have it. I saw this in preseason and I'm seeing it now. They're just dudes. They're the guys that fill out a 20 win team.
