I was more afraid of the Dodgers rematch…… If we beat the Red Sox, I’ll be afraid of the Braves, but I am not sure about their pitching staff.
Dodgers are postseason chokers, a 2020 Mickey Mouse title doesn't intimidate me. The Braves are still down a number of players, and outside of Morton, this hitting corps can bulldoze their way though starting rotations. I want the Braves. The Dodgers are a 3-run bomb from a .160 hitter away from their season ending already. Facing them would mean the Braves blowing a 3-1 lead for the 2nd year in a row against them and I wouldn't wish that on anybody. Besides, if we lose to the Braves, it sucks, but at least we can lorde over the AL. Losing to the Dodgers after all that **** they talked would be beyond humiliating.
The Nats always scared me in '19. Scherzer and Strasburg along with Corbin, Rendon, Soto, Trea Turner etc. The Braves are good but they don't terrify me especially with Acuna out.
Man they are playing some damn good baseball. They are completely trashing the Dodgers rn. Should have been a sweep.
Morton, Fried, and Anderson are all very good but they don't put the fear of God in me like Scherzer and Strasburg did. Rendon and Soto were also guys I never wanted to see. Freeman is scary and they have other good hitters but no Acuna definitely hurts them.
The Braves won the first 3 times they faced each other but the killer B's did beat them the final 2 times they faced them in 2004 and 2005.
The Nats were a superteam that always played below their potential. I feel the entire league got lulled into a false sense of security with all their first round exits. They avoid a few bullpen collapses and they play in multiple NLCS and even a WS or two during the Harper years.
Braves are basically playing at a .667 clip since the trade deadline. Similar ending run the Nats had to end their 2019 season. Of course they wont be a push over. However, the lights are still brighter in World Series than any other time, especially for a team experiencing it for the firs time. Especially, after a likely emotional release of finally beating a Dodgers team they lost to in 18 and 20.
I can't believe how badly Rosario choked today. He had a perfect chance to hit a double for the cycle and for whatever reason put a bit more power in his swing and hit his 2nd HR. Why? What a loser!
