Where did you get these percentages from? Chet in the U19World Cup shot like 55% from 3 and nearly 70% from the line over 7 games, where he won the gold.... As a junior Chet shot 80% from the floor as well.
if chet would not bulk up and improve his base strength, hardly could he compete in nba (looks a little bit injury-prone type)
He was humiliated and wiped off the court by Wembanyama in the World Cup final. It's perfectly normal for Americans to rise to him because he is a marketing marvel. The team that drafted him in front of Banchero is going to cry a lot.
Wembenyama is better than both Chet and Banchero, but…….he’s not in this draft. And Chet didn’t do that bad. The question is Chet vs Banchero. Chet is a better athlete and defender, higher upside but way bigger bust potential. Banchero has NBA body and some nice face up skills for a big guy. Lower ceiling because of defensive liability and higher floor because of body and skills.
I'd rather take Banchero in 2022 and walk to Wembanyama in 2023. Like Marjanovic, I think Chet has a pituitary gland problem and his body doesn't promise me potential. Even though they're both bad, Banchero has a higher ceiling than Chet even at that situation. It makes more sense to choose Banchero than to take that risk because Banchero will be better than Chet.
Banchero doesn’t have the ceiling that Chet has. A super long, elite defensively, handles, athletic and 3 pt range unicorn has a much higher ceiling. His only negative is slight frame. But if you were to tell me we could get Banchero and Wemby? Hell yeah I’m taking that over Chet.
Sounds like Durant vs Oden part 2 except this time Oden has decent biomechanics and bones not made of glass. Why not get both Chet and Wemby? Fun fact about Oden: Oden, Roy, and LaMarcus only played 52 games together during their times in Portland. They went 40-12. That's good for a 63-19 pace over 82 games.
