Oh please. The Texans will be fine, eventually. It may take a couple of years, they will be fine. Cal McNair will spend money as his father did (he may be alot of things…cheap is not one). That is the difference between the Texans and Lions, Bengals, etc… Right draft picks and smart FA signings will accelerate the turnaround.
not only did they lose 31-3, I just checked the score for their game last Sunday, and these bums followed that up with a 31-5 L…LMAO just throw the whole franchise away
Dude you have been saying some version of this for years and it has progressively gotten worse. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. No, this organization SUCKS on and off the field. It just really sucks and right now there is no reason to believe it will magically get better.
The current scheme is only the current scheme currently. Much like the former current scheme it will be the former scheme within 24 months.
If your daddy was a billionaire you could have probably gone to college too. Might not have let you walk on the football team, though.
Apparently the local press box was empty yesterday. And not simply because they’re all covering the Astros… there’s just absolutely zero interest and zero repercussions for ignoring the Texans. People commenting that they have NEVER seen that… for any pro sports team… in the history of pro sports.
Of course they’re worse. And there’s no novelty. There’s no grace period. The brand is going to be at an all time low in terms of embarrassment and overall fan interest… with the only possibility that sustained winning gets them out of it. Fans cannot give tickets away at this point. The most comparable situation to this is when the Oilers announced they were leaving town… and even then, there was a tad more passion as fans did end up coming to the Astrodome just to vent anger at Bud.
Got offered 4 lower level 40 yard line tickets for free on Saturday. Didn’t even give it a second’s thought. Don’t see that changing as long as Cal is running things the way he is.
When they see the total revenue drop off this year… that’s going to cause some changes, regardless of where they are at in the “rebuild”. The financial impact of this season has a chance to be unprecedented… and that’s coming off a year of a pandemic with decreased fans. The combination of those two factors is going to force some unexpected changes down on Kirby.
Let’s hope. Until I see otherwise, I’m not discounting the influence of certain people Cal has chosen to surround himself with.
Who is the head of the business side of things over there now? Rootes was there forever. Easterby can’t be in charge of everything, but wouldn’t surprise me if he was also weighing in on that (why not, he’s already unqualified to have an exec job at any level… lets let him handle billion dollar finances). Those are the guys who are going to have to lay it all out as it is to the McNair family… who haven’t had to absorb financial losses on the Texans since their inception. And financial losses are the quickest way to enact or induce change for any business.
Greg Grissom is President, Business Operations Marilan Logan is SVP, CFO and Treasurer I know nothing about either of them. https://www.houstontexans.com/team/front-office-roster/
