The problem is most contenders aren't handing out 8 and 10 year deals because they have a bunch already or some future ones coming... Those deals are going to be for teams with young talent trying to accelerate a rebuild while having low payroll... Just a dark horse here, but if Tampa thinks he's the last piece they can make room for him moving Wander to another spot... not their style though...
lol if Mets give him a Lindor contract he’ll play third. The difference between his biggest and second biggest offer will probably be upwards of 60million, that will make you shift spots on the infield real quick.
1000% gone. How can you sign him when your rotation is literally empty? HOU has one reliable starter and he is made of glass.
You do both. Houston is the 4th largest city in America, we should be a top 5 spender. Crane saved a crap ton of money at the beginning of the 2010s. Use that money now.
They need a better tv deal. payroll that owner is willing to spend is usually correlated with that. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/lets-update-the-estimated-local-tv-revenue-for-mlb-teams/
I wish FOX, CBS, or NBC would buy out AT&T Sportsnet. Would mean more $$$ and better graphics/music on the telecast. Always felt being an AT&T team held us back.
Thanks to the awful CSN deal that Crane got sold by McClain. He did end up getting a rebate for that debacle, no? But it ultimately had them settling for a low mid market deal when viewership was at its lowest (and no ownership stake).
I knew the Yankees would be looking for a shortstop. That is one of the one position are they are going to invest long-term for.
We probably final offer something like 8/280 and the Mets and Yankees get in a bidding war and he goes to NY for 10/400.
Pretty unbelievable (per NY fans) that both Boone/Cashman survived this season.... and got extensions.
