Big 12 hasn't been a very popular spot for defensive-minded coaches. Baylor is the only team out there trying these days.

Well....... there is the fact that BOB is an insufferable ******* that is a control freak that blames everyone else for his failures.... but more importantly he sucks at talent evaluation and is a poor play caller. USC going that route would be foolish.

There are a number of strong candidates out there and while it isn't quite as good a job as it was a decade ago, it is still a really good job.... there are still a lot of good players coming out of California that would likely want to go to a good USC program, it is located in a city that appeals to the media and recruits, the co-eds are some of the best in the country and the networking opportunities are amazing. There is someone that can go there any win pretty quick in a mediocre PAC and in a state that is largely being untapped right now ......... they should bring back Lane Kiffin now that is actually an adult and not a child, but that isn't happening....... Peterson for awhile would be a very good hire and he would win.... they need someone that can have the personality to get attention in that media market.

Pat Fitzgerald is another coach that would likely play very well there..... Luke Fickell is a popular name, but not sure he wants to leave Cincy yet. His son just committed there, he is from Columbus Ohio.... he and his wife went to OH ST.... he is also a conservative person that is really religious... not sure he would like SOCAL.

IIRC Saban had grown men CRYING like BABIES in the NFL. And simply didn't put in the time. I bet if he stuck around his teams could have been great. I give his tenure in the NFL an INCOMPLETE. No got an A, B, C, D or F.

    Too young/inexperienced.

Obviously all the big, rumored names.

Mel Tucker rumored, Jimbo, James Franklin, Lane Kiffin, Mario Cristobal, maybe guys like Dave Aranda(former DC) or Billy Napier if they have to “settle”.

You ever wonder if coaches are irrelevant outside of recruiting?

I think the last 10-15 years of Texas and OU points to the opposite? Seems like both schools recruit at top-10 type levels... but the on-field results are not quite the same.

    What a HERO.

Only at LSU can someone with an undiagnosed learning disability win a national title.

UT settling to hire Coach O in 5... 4..

Goat****er Ziggy, you just can't help yourself, can you?

That's ok, not being able to hide your Aggieness is pretty much how the normal world identifies aTm grads.

It feels that way a lot of the time.

I think the first half of games is where recruiting strength shows. The second half is where coaching shows.

LOL as if he got fired for that.

If you win 10 games a year you can **** the Presidents wife in his own bed and get away with it.

Yep, someone that roots against LSU & UT might be an Aggie grad. Very good reasoning. GOOD JOB!
