Yeah...pathetic that SF lost to a team that won 106 games (1 less than them) and had a +59 run differential over them.
I guess so, but in the immediate aftermath I'm not going to put my self in an emotional state of believing the Dodgers could lose to the Braves. I'm chalking up the L with the NL, and I hope we can take care of business and beat them down in the WS.
Chances of Marwin hitting a home run against the Dodgers in the top of the 9th in a World Series game was rather slim as well.
1989 World Series Game 3 https://www.referee.com/the-earthquake-game-1989-world-series-game-3-san-francisco-vs-oakland/ I'd prefer to play in Atlanta. Not that I'm dismissing Boston...
Exactly. This most likely will be addressed in the off-season and I believe you don't need to add extra replay review challenges, but can allow the umps to review a borderline call that potentially ends the game. In this case it would be easy for the umps to go to the monitor and see it was not a swing and play on. If this play happens in the 5th then no harm but in the 9th for the third out is inexcusable.
Man, what an offensive let down by the Giants. Words can't explain how much I don't like the Dodgers. Just can't stand to watch their games and see them win. My head and my gut tells me the Dodgers won the World Series when they acquired Scherzer and Turner. If the Dodgers win it all it's just not fair. Can't compete with their ability to spend all that money. But then I think about how Atlanta has a better chance against them than San Fransisco did with their pitching and offensive potential. So maybe Atlanta can do it.
Braves did their job. I wonder if the announcers would drool over a possible Atlanta Braves (former Boston Braves) match up with the Red Sox
Stupid pitchers messing up opportunities is the most annoying part about the postseason. The ATL guy hitting Turner to load the bases will be the reason Atl loses
If only d'Arnaud could have somehow caught that foul tip. Or if Rosario could have somehow caught the 2 RBI ball that dropped. At least it's tied, hoping for one more. And dirty player and cheater Joe Kelly is no longer in line for the win.
I didn't have a problem with Buck until this year. He's really showing it this year, while in the past I felt he was more ambivalent towards both teams. At least we do have Smoltz, who I find to be very fair, professional, and knowledgeable.
