ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Spurs 10/15/2021 (Preseason)

Meh, I thought they looked a lot better this game on offense than vs Tor, just missed shots. Tor game was bunch of headless chickens. Sengun balled out. Green recovered a little in the second half. I’ll take it.

 

Hard to say what the gameplan for this game is. Could be solely based on polishing up Sengun and Wood with a focus on D. I hope we start the season showcasing KPJ and Green and do some intensive FT drills. Not necessarily interested in winning now, but I want to see some progress in development. The more I watch KPJ and Green together, the less likely I see them playing together. I'd be okay if we flipped KPJ for Tyus Jones if things are starting to look plugged up.

 

yep, many player would do much better if they would ignored 3 pt line and focus on doing what they do well

Yeah I'm good with Wood at PF and Sengun at C as starters.

 

Green played better and showed promise. KPJ however is a disaster.

I see it exactly the opposite.

Green has looked like a dumpster fire. The FT line is the only place where he can hit a shot and he's a traffic cone on defense. There's a reason he's a -22 in this game.

KPJ has shown flashes, proving he is capable of doing what we need him to do, he just needs to do it more often and more consistently.

Woah I just realized we benched KJ the whole game, I don't agree with that ****.

 

JC is worse point than Wood.

I'm not even mad at this game. At least we saw all of our young guys show flashes and Christian Wood looking like an All-Star.

 

KPJ is doing a lot of walking back on defense which is hurting transition D a lot.

We‘re not as far away from being somewhat competitive as some might think. We just turn it over way too much for the terrible transition D we have. If either one of those things improve, we’re a lot closer very fast.

I'm going to associate blow outs with Silas for the rest of my life. Can this team ever get off to a good start lol.

 

Last year, Spurs was terrible at 3. Tonight they at 15/38 39.5%
