I heard on the radio today that it was reported in a Dallas paper that Mark Cuban wants to give Moochie a $4.5Mil exception. If this is true, Moochie would have to be on some really bad crack to turn it down, and we'd be back in the market for a backup point guard. ------------------
I heard that on the radio as well. If the Mavs offer, the Rockets better come up with a better counteroffer cause Moochie is gone. Moochie has been underpaid in Houston. ------------------ Dream On!
Damn I'm scared I hope he doesn't leave us. ------------------ Never underestimate the heart of a Champion
I desperately want Moochie to stay but if Dallas (or anyone else) offers 4.5 million I can't blame him for leaving. He is a great bench player but Dream & Mo-T are our top 2 priorities. Until they are signed and/or replaced I don't think we can afford to give Moochie his money.
Now I don't see how they get Dream, MoTay, Shandon, AND Mooch back next year. Maybe three of these, maybe just two. So which do you go after hardest? Conventional wisdom says that quality big men are harder to come by. The question is how thin do the Rockets want to be at guard behind Franchise and Mobes? With the zone coming, they'll want to turn each game into a track race, which means they need someone like Mooch coming off the bench. I say keep MoTay, Mooch, and Shandon (if he'll come down some on his price). Offer Dream $2-3 million and get ready for him to walk. Then try to find a serviceable center someplace. ------------------
