Man, some bold decisions on this roster. Siri over Marwin is surprising. I would've had Odorizzi over Maton. Javier, Maton, or Raley (against any RHP) is anxiety city. Woof.
I'm surprised, but happy. I thought Siri wouldn't be able to bat, but as long as he can contribute in any way I think he's better than Marwin at this point. Surprised Odo didn't make it over Javier / Raley. He's pitched better lately than Grienke or Javier out of the bullpen. Javier was good as a starter, but has not been great as a reliever. I guess they think he'll be OK in the long relief role and has better stuff if they are in a worst case situation and he needs to be used in a short relief stint. Not sure I see a situation where you'd want to use Raley given the White Sox lineup and his splits against righties.
I do not expect to see Seri at the plate. I view him as the Pinch Runner when we need the extra base and are willing to forgo smart base-running for youthful enthusiasm and speed. Perhaps PR for Maldy or Bregman at first when we need to score on a gapper. Emergency Defense in the OF if Chas isn't available.
We're all on the same page that the roster should be almost entirely Click's decision. Who they play, and when they play, usually is going to be Dusty's call... with Click's suggestions... but even if Dusty clamored for certain people, who is physically on the roster has to be all Click. That being said, it is odd to have two lefties (against this lineup) on the roster but no Odorizzi. Not worried as much about the lineup... having 3 catchers allows Dusty to use Castro as a PH option at any time. Marwin was not going to get AB's unless something catastrophic happened, and at least Siri can PR or possibly play defense.
he certainly isn't hitting before anyone else in the lineup so yeah he should. That's more indicative to the depth of the stros hitters rather than a slight to tucker. And it allows the lineup to spread apart their lefties. when the stros are all available this is the general makeup of it
Would be applicable to whoever is in the 7th spot in this lineup... but somebody has to be. LINEUP OF DEATH! NO OFF DAYS! UNLEASH THE KRACKEN!
Oh my. Dusty is using my lineup, both players and order. I can't complain today, at least about his Line-up. What am I to do?
Since June 1 , Raley's been rocking an ERA of 2.82. Which only makes his april and may look even worse.
Siri in the playoffs will be interesting. I could see him getting put in as a pitch runner and then he tries to YOLO steal home. Wild card.
