It’s probably not a bad thing if some of your really good young players have to sit and watch more then they want to or probably even deserve. A lot to learn in just observing.

Theis needs to work in that three points shot. Wasn’t looking pretty at all last night

That probably applies to Sengun the least.

I still don’t mind him coming off the bench as long as he still gets plenty of minutes.

Am I the only one who thought Theis looked pretty good? He’s a great complement to Wood. Sengun coming off the bench works well because the offense can flow through him.

I agree. I’m not advocating that he plays less, I’d like to see as much of him as possible. Give him 30 minutes as far as I’m concerned. But I don’t think it’s a problem if his minutes are limited early. He’s got a big future ahead.

He looked very decent, hitting that mid-range shot was nice to see.

I always thought he was a nice player and we need him next to Wood as Woods defensive instincts are pretty bad but he is so short for a a center. He wouldve worked much better here next to Harden and WB than next to a bunch of new guys who really should be getting more minutes than he does if we are really committed to rebuilding.

I saw him shooting nothing but threes by himself in practice one day. he's mainly a defense guy. He's trying though. There's no experience like NBA he just needs more time. how old is he?

Theis is a nice piece to our puzzle, he has a soft touch so he can hit the 2 pointer, he can set up picks, he can work with Wood on the defensive assignments. However, he do not live inside the paint and get his hand dirty. I thought he was a very physical player who would scrap for the balls but looking at his rebound numbers he is not that type. We need a rebound machine for the starter and he is not, I seen Porter and Green was camped out in the paint to get rebounds and their rebound numbers showed that. I would still start Theis but
i would give Sengun way more minutes. He is physical, he will get the rebound and the offense can run through him. I like when Sengun, Nwaba, Tate, Augustin and Martin play together. This guys are physical and Sengun with his elite passing could dish out nice passes and layups

i think hes 26 but not sure... if i recall well he was near 40% 3pt shooter few years back
him being mainly the defense guy doesnt excuse him from practicing 3s... if you cant shoot then your defense is not worth much since you ruin the spacing..... just look at benn simmons

He defended really well, and can bang around with the physical big men of the league...something that Wood shouldn't be doing.

Ben is a great player and keep in mind that Embiid was injured and the Sixers were still the #1 seed in the East. Neither Ben or Nwaba fail to practice shooting three's they both practice. The issue for Ben is that he refuses to shoot them and Nwaba still shoots them but cant make them.

    https://nba.nbcsports.com/2021/10/0...career-on-winner-not-getting-to-spread-wings/

A source familiar with the conversations between Simmons’ camp and the Sixers told PhillyVoice that the only consistent or clear message this offseason was about the accelerated timeline Simmons has been evaluated on compared to other No. 1 overall picks. In most instances, agent Rich Paul and others have pointed out, top picks are sent to bad teams where they can figure out who they are and how their career is going to play out. Having missed his first year out of LSU due to injury, Simmons joined Embiid to form a partnership capable of winning 50 games right away, and the Sixers have been considered contenders (or at least pseudo contenders) at various points during the last three seasons, increasing scrutiny on his development.

The 76ers being too good, too quickly would be an odd gripe. Yes, that has come with pressure. But Simmons – the 2018 Rookie of the Year – entered the NBA ready to contribute to winning. His early success, both team and individual, got him onto three All-Star teams and earned him a super-max contract extension.

I'm not going to lie, I'm incredibly confused why I came into a Theis thread and reading Ben Simmons ****.

I thought so too. He's just an experienced vet who knows his role very well. He's gonna do all the dirty work, be consistent, not be flashy, and just be solid every game
