There should be a name for these 3 days between the end of the season and the first playoff game. I've always welcomed the calm before the storm, given how nerve-racking the playoffs end up being and how much of a grind the regular season games are. It is certainly nice to never have to stress about WC games... and consistently starting game 1's at home. The only major bummer (that I consistently forget) is that no more TK/Blum/Julia for these games. And as we all know, when you're conditioned to hearing your local announcers for 150+ games, then get subjected to the national pundits, its consistently like nails on a chalkboard.... even if what they're saying is basically accurate.
I hope I was not reading too much into yesterdays goodbyes, but it sounded a bit like it might be the last one for someone on the broadcast team. "Five year runs" are not the normal season ending conversation.
A lot of betting with your heart instead of your brain. Brewers over the Giants? White Sox over the Astros?????
