Possibly. The only hope here is that, among the three people at the top (Cal, Caserio and Easterby), the one that's actually had experience in NFL scouting makes the call and final decision.
Texans' deplorable state begins with Cal McNair […] After the game, a couple players admitted to being embarrassed. As well they should be. As should chairman and CEO Cal McNair, whose inept operation directly led to Sunday’s debacle. Even good football teams have bad days. The Texans are not a good football team. This is what McNair’s stewardship has wrought. And every time the Texans get dismantled by an opponent, his should be the first name mentioned. […] Yes, in their 20th season, the Texans look like newborns. Not cute and cuddly. Messy, with undeveloped fine motor skills. […] As for the Texans, Sunday was a reminder that two decades into their existence, they are as far from a Super Bowl as they have ever been. They completed one pass in the first half. The only other team to complete one or no passes in a half in recent years was the Denver Broncos. Of course, Denver had a legitimate excuse when that happened last year. All of its quarterbacks missed the game because of COVID-19 protocols, so a wide receiver played the position. The Texans’ futility isn’t pandemic-related. If only there were a vaccine a team could take to ward off symptoms of bungling ownership. Alas, the pain and suffering of the Texans faithful continue.
We're up 24-0 2yrs ago in the playoffs with a chance to go to the AFC Championship and this reset and rebuild is overdue? I'm not understanding, please explain? I like Caserio but I must admit I'm HESITANT! I still do not understand why he picked Mills in the 3rd round. Like I said in other threads, Mills is never going to be a good starter, backup maybe, so Caserio could've picked him or another QB later in the draft, based upon our needs.
Our needs were all over the field so you can't really blame the guy for taking Mills in the 3rd round. If the Watson shitstorm didn't hit prior to the draft maaaaybe Caserio would have looked at another position player. Judging Caserio based on one draft where he didn't have enough meaningful picks is a bit much.
No, I didn't mean meaningful picks. I'm questioning why chose a QB there at that spot? I know it's easy to point fingers now but I thought all along that outside of the first 2 QB's that there was a serious drop off in talent and to pick a QB in the 3rd round when there was such a talent drop off and that was your 1st pick....that was baffling! None of the QBs in the 3rd round were worth taking there. I knew people who went to A&M who didn't want the Texans to pick Mond. So the fact that they took Mills was highly questionable.
It's going to get worse than Sunday. Don't anyone believe that what you saw was rock bottom. It's entirely possible that won't come for another year or so.
Trash can loser culture is hitting the players. 100 yard of pentalies, some of the players r just going through the motion 2 get paid. Where is easterby and the holy spirit to raise the team morale. 20 years worth of football not much 2 show for it. It's gonna b Detroit lions level of suffering in this season and future upcoming ones.
Why even pay attention to the Texans anymore? Astros are in the Playoffs and the Rockets preseason is about to start. Now is the best time to forget about the Houston Texans completely.
24-0 and even though Bill O’Brien happened what did Watson and Hopkins and JJ and mathieu do after that exactly?? We where never good let’s just be honest same ol Texans that year and the year we where supposed to challenge New England. You didn’t really truly feel deep down that we would contend for a super bowl with that team did you??
You don’t really believe that do you?? He spent one year there I believe the just got re-hired there after his short stint in Houston where he was targeting people of color to fire and dismiss smh. Sean McDermott and Brandon beane Built Buffalo and it’s been 4/5 years for them
With Watson, Hop, JJ, and the others were enough. Our problem has always been we never hire the RIGHT people and it starts upstairs. With that talent up 24-0, Ray Charles could've gotten us the rest of the way.
I'm not sure if Gaine was the one or not but I know the GM that followed wasn't (B O'B) and that's what lead tobthe Texans down fall
They're funny, and all these threads are funny. Friend texts me yesterday, saying the new Texas blue law change -- Sunday at 10am now -- is all about making Texans' games bearable. Hahaha! Gold, Jerry!
