was thinking of buying a laptop screen extender like. Amazon.com: Mobile Pixels 12.5'' Trio Portable Monitor for Laptops for 13''-14'' laptops,1080P Full HD IPS Screen,USB A/Type-C Plug and Play,Windows/Android/Mac Compatible (One Trio Monitor) : Electronics but i know some people use tablets as a second screen for their laptops. since i was thinking of getting a cheap tablet anyways - was wondering if any suggestions? specifically i want to extend my screen (not just mirror it). also any wired (HDMI) tablets that can receive input (not just ouput) - I could use a 3rd party app and connect wirelessly - but if have heard sometimes the wireless lag when you move your mouse back and forth is annoying? i know i found some advice online but wanted to see if anyone here has done it and any pitfalls/ideas. thanks in advance
I've looked in to this but I wasn't able to find a way to do it. It's been a few years. My philosophy with this stuff is to pay for simplicity and reliability. Sometimes the hacked together **** is just too much of a PITA to sink your time into it even if there's a cheaper option.
I'm sorry I can't help you. But I'm curious why anyone would want to do that. What am i missing? Would it be useful for gaming? Movies? Or are there programs that something like it would really be useful with??? Can anyone give me some examples of how I might use one? I have a laptop but it's not much use to me.
If you have a computer, many use 2 or sometimes 3 monitors, it is much more efficient. A laptop extender is the same concept, I think there are some out there.....let me find a link. Tri Screen: https://www.thexebec.com/products/x...cjbHTZSRUKFOqlYQ6GriGX24Ui9S0s0BoCNS4QAvD_BwE Side swivel https://sidetrak.com/products/sidet...KfJ8qgpP9jdZLihWpu_vB3TJD7ojO3vBoCEpMQAvD_BwE Built in battery - this is like the one I use for filming soccer games - I use it as a view finder on my camera. i tend to work at my breakfast or dining table a lot and sometimes need a 2nd monitor to open multiple programs at once. (i have a desktop but my laptop is so much easier to take with me and update wherever i am)... since i also am looking for a tablet for simple things like zoom, netflix, browsing - i thought i would kill too birds with one stone
@FrontRunner Once you go multiple monitors, you never go back. I have five. Two of them are just investment charts and alerts that I keep an eye on. I work mainly off of the main and right monitors. The left one is chat windows. If I had to travel again with a laptop I would be all over two small portables similar to what has been posted in this thread.
