Ep4 was weird. Dark. Not polished, but good. Entertaining. I don't get how the universe needed her to die though. She lives in other realities without anyone crying about it.
Her death is what broke away this timeline from the sacred timeline. She lives and the timeline is terminated. That's at least how I read the "logic".
Like the darker storylines but I would like more epic stories. My favorite What Ifs were like what if the Avengers lost Atlantis Attacks or the Evolutionary War or what if the X-men lost Inferno. Of course they need to stay within the confines of the movies so not going to see those.
Every week, the episode shows some promise. Every week, it always seems to be too short. This week is no exception.
They really should have at least made a part 2 or something, that airs the following week. There were like 5-6 backstabs in the 32 minute(s) (or so) episode - that's like 1 backstab every 5 minutes. No time to really process each, even if it is just an animation. Episodes need to be either longer or split into parts 1 and 2, considering the plots of these episodes get more complex every consecutive week.
They hacked the storytelling. Now everyone is begging for more, not realizing, the writers get a get-of-jail-free pass, by not having to think of an interesting ending (the most difficult part to execute). Kudos to the Dr. Strange one for finishing it.
Which is dumb, imo. If they made one season with 3 "movie arcs", it would've been better than this Whitman's Sampler of post-covid fun-sized teasers. I get the first season sets seeds for which idea or story becomes viral, but I'm feeling it cheapens everything else rather than enhancing the universe
That's a great idea and yup I would have much preferred concentrating on 2-3 stories rather than a different one every week.
So he could endear himself to the Wakandans by going into battle against an invading army. It was a very elaborate plan, more elaborate than the one in the movie. Killmonger is crazy and Marvel won't let us forget it. Feels like they could have used this What if... to make Killmonger less crazy so people could see him as BP. looks like Marvel does not wont Killmonger to be BP at all. welp. They should do a What if.. Killmonger's dad wasn't killed. That would be more interesting.
Spoiler Ultron with the Infinity Stones is super-powerful. Like this episode - but understand why some didn't. Also, how is this (if at all) going to be connected with the upcoming Marvel movies/TV shows?
Spoiler but how did ultron with the mind stone only just instantly kill Thanos with 4 stones? That's so ridiculous...really liked the episode tho and I think next week may be the first one that is sequential
Spoiler it definitely requires you to believe in the extremes but I guess if the Stormbreaker can pierce Thanos' skin and wound him then Vision's laser could be strong enough to slice him in half. I,too, thought that was a bit too easy but Thanos can definitely be wounded (and in this case sliced up)
The real question is, with all stones, why'd he go world-to-world killing everyone instead of just snapping? Or did he do that before the stones? I already forgot. Fun episode though. Reminds me of the bad guy in Marvel vs Capcom - Sigma Ultron, not to be confused with Sigma Male (lulz). @tinman knows
Spoiler I did not like that they nerfed Thanos so badly. . . I mean hell dude had millions of minions and lackeys. . . and he shows up by himself and nerfed in seconds? Nah . . .. I also don't like the Watcher having to bend the knee to Evil Dr Strange . . he went from tragic figure to *ss in one snarky comment. My least favorite Episode Rocket River
I don't think they nerfed Thanos like yall. He was nerfed in the Wakanda/GoTG one for sure. Maybe Vision was simply never strong enough to put that stone to proper use. Or maybe it never occurred to anyone to use it like that. Vision's use of the gem had always been somewhat limited. And constantly watered down since Avengers 2. Vision seemed preoccupied with love. Dr. Strange also decided to not really use the timestone. Ultron had the balls to use what he had. And nothing to lose. But it's just an imaginary cartoon, lulz.
Assuming that everyone has seen the Ultron episode. Re: taking out Thanos: he went for the head. Why didn’t he snap to cull the universe? He is following a program, which is mentioned several times. Here’s my big beef with the second part of the episode. Spoilers for the Loki series if you haven’t seen it but this show is for fanboys and assumes you’ve seen all of the MCU stuff anyway. In Loki they established that the Infinity Stones were useless outside of their reality. They were paperweights in the nexus. So Ultron finds The Watcher in the nexus and they start throwing down, busting through all these different realities. Shouldn’t Ultron be gimped when he leaves his own reality since the stones don’t work? Lazy writing, which is what the show suffers from and why I don’t watch it the day it airs. Other than that, great episode, so cool that The Watcher went to Strange Supreme for help.
