Was it in a big shopping center with maybe a Target and a Randall's?

Maybe Wilcrest is the major cross street on the West side of that shopping center.

    Yes, yes it was.

Not one of out finer moments back then, but that was a great place to pick up random chicks.

I don't know if that area is still the same as it was years ago.

Medowglen is the next somewhat major road (going East --> West) just South of Westheimer and the apartments in that area show up on the local news a fair amount.

North of Westheimer around Wilcrest & Briarforest seems to have changed as well.

Taco Bell and Taco Casa are of no interest to me. If I step away from the country club, I'll go to Hugo's, Caracol, Teotihuacan (I'm a man of the people), and El Tiempo (if the ladies want to get rowdy).

I was more of an early-mid 90’s Taco Bell era teen. Remember the 59/79/99 menu. My go-to’s (like others mentioned) are all gone…Meximelt, Mexican Pizza, Chilito, Frito’s Burrito, etc. I haven’t been to one in years but would consider on occasion if those items were still available

All we had in the sticks was Del Taco, which closed, then a Popeyes opened, which was one of my first jobs.

One of the few things that 'North' Texas has over us is a better fast food taco joint- Taco Bueno. An order of magnitude better than canned dog food Taco Bell.

A Taco Bell did eventually open in my home town in the late 80's. It was obviously great for teenagers. My girlfriend and I stopped in during a slow time and spent some time together in the bathroom.

There was a Taco Bell on 43rd near Donna Bell by my grand parents in Oak Forest that was the first place I could ride my bike to alone in the mid 70s. Never cared for the food much but the freedom was fab. Our Mexican food eating consisted of Monterrey House on 34th or Leo's on Shepard.... or the occasional Pancho's if we were slummin it.

    Pancho's!

You have no idea how much carnage a bus load of post-game HS football players can do to that place. Looking back, I feel so bad for the people who had to clean up after us.

La Hacienda on the westside was the family go-to when I was a kid, 40 years later it's still there. Ask @MadMax, he knows what's up.

Haha I can only imagine. I do think the "The raise the flag for service" concept was awesome. More restaurants should go that route so the waiter/tress doesn't show up to ask you how things are every time you take a big bite of food.

    I miss the Frito Burrito.

Thankfully, my local Sonic now has its own version.

I remember the late 80s Taco Bell in Huntsville. 29 cent hard tacos on certain days. The line of hoopties was a mile long waiting to score a couple hundred tacos each.

Many a drunken feast at the locations at 1960 @ I-45 or 1960 across from Willowbrook Mall. The Willowbrook location was right by the train tracks and had 25 cent margarita's whenever a train passed by.

Ponchos was pretty bad ass as well

Only thing I remember about Taco Bell from the 70s and 80s was the fact that their servings were four times the size of what they are today
