Netflix is cancel happy. So it's considered a successful run if it there are 3 ten-episode seasons in 6 years?
The funny thing is Faye's anime look is actually way more on trend right now and would be more relatable. The live action rendition actually looks more dated.
It looks terrible to me but its not even on Netflix imo Its just really ****ing hard to get anime to not look goofy as hell in a live adaptation.
I'll give it a chance. I liked Cowboy Bebop when it came out, I've been crushing on Daniella Pineda since that godawful Jurassic World sequel, and it can't be any worse than Clickbait.
It's looking interesting to me, don't see why people are hating it without having seen a single episode. It's not like you can't keep watching the anime because of this live adaptation.
The casting is weird. John Cho has sort of grown on me as Spike, but Daniella Pineda does not have the body to pull off Faye. She's cute but just misses the mark, especially in the chest. I think people will either love it or hate it.
Name one time an anime has been converted to live action for the better. Its been tried many times (especially by Netflix) . That's why people are hating on it. Netflix is known for ruining beloved source material.
This. Actually, Timothy Chalamet is the closest on looks and it would not have been a whitewash. Young Keanu would have nailed it.
It's been a good 15 years since I last watched Bebop but I don't recall that Viscous was ever actually identified as Japanese or Asian. https://cowboybebop.fandom.com/wiki/Vicious
They never really identified anybody by race since it was a show about the universe being populated he was drawn with a lot of caucasian features IMO. This was probably the show that started my love with anime, at least in enjoying an actual story arc and you could actually care about the characters.
Real talk I've never actually watched more than a couple of episodes of the anime lol Strange how this show is immensely popular in the states but not as much elsewhere. I guess its thanks to the late night cartoon network bloc.
