I don’t doubt that Stone wanted Tate and Nwaba, but he wasn’t the only one in the organization. Tate is someone the Rockets watched and wanted because of their interest in Weaver. Nwaba is someone years ago the Rockets had interest in and were aware of. Morey is who had Stone switched to the basketball side so I don’t doubt Stone’s opinions were well respected by Morey… but my understanding is that it isn’t as simple as Stone found these players.
