I knew more of the lyrics to Incense and Peppermint than I had thought that I would. If we are going to do One Hit Wonders, it might need to be done in a new discussion thread. **************************** I will go ahead and push the boundaries a bit and give a suggestion that leans more to Metal & Blues rather than straight forward Rock & Roll. She isn't like * The Association * The McCoys * Tommy James and the Shondells * Small Faces so you will need to adjust your mood accordingly. Since you saw Humble Pie, I have faith in you being able to do it.
RUSH …and the fact that we’re on page three and they haven’t been mentioned yet just proves my point.
I saw Fishbone support the Beastie Boys off of License to Ill. Amazing show. They had to play 3 hours though, because the Beasties were wasted and trying to sober up.
Killing Joke is a great one. Completely reinvented themselves along the way too. Love this band. Another for me is Clutch.
It really just proves that you are in the wrong thread. Rush is not overrated or underrated or anything. Rush is Rush.
The Band CCR Eagles Boston The Who (they get too overshadowed by The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones) Queen used to be underrated for a while, but everyone came back around to them on the nostalgia cycle I'm sure there are more. One problem with a question like this is that art is totally subjective. I can tell you who I think is underrated, but others can think they are properly placed and just aren't very good. Take Bif Naked for example. One of my favorite artists, but other people can say she is not underrated. Same with say, Counting Crows.
The John McGeoch era of Siouxsie And The Banshees. They influenced The Cure, The Smiths, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Janes Addiction, etc. ..and EVERY 90's NBA fan will recognize this riff
Canned Heat was one of the early bands in the blues rock genre, so they won't be polished as some of the later bands. If you like Humble Pie, Foghat, etc you should be good with Canned Heat. T Rex dabbled in several different things and some say they were an influence in Glam Rock. Not sure which bands to group them with. Bighead Todd and the Monsters I barely know, so will let somebody else discuss them.
I hear the same BS argument that we get for the Rockets championships. 'Nirvana was better, would beat FF'
Primus Here is a video of "Farewell to kings" from their most recent "A Tribute to Kings" tour at ACL Live. First time I've ever seen Les play a guitar, or play with a pick in the 20+ times I've seen them live. He tossed 2 guitar pics into the crowd and I was lucky enough to snag one.
