I guess you and I have different ideas of what "flaming out" means. From 2014 to 2019, (he only played 61 games in 2013) Braun had an OPS of .833 and an OPS+ of .120.

It’s easy to say all discussion of prospects is “useless” given how unpredictable their outcomes are, but what’s the fun in that?

It’s a bummer that with the amazing season that Correa has had, he practically just cemented himself as the top free agent in the offseason; and most likely out of the Astros budget. I’m glad he’s playing to his potential though.

I fully expect astronomical numbers and years being offered to him.

I say no hard feelings for Correa, he’s played with everything he’s had for the Astros.

Hence fellas, enjoy Correa for the remainder of the season and postseason, chances are he’s gonna start a bidding war for his services that only deep pockets can afford.

C Luke Berryhill had surgery yesterday. That indicates that he had a pretty monster season all while dealing with an injury that required surgery to fix. I would think that would bode really well for his performance once he’s fully healthy. Both he and Yainer Diaz could be big time prospects if they hit well in AA.

If he helps win us a World Series again this year it's something that I can live with (or if he buries Dusty in his backyard)

$25M per isn't cheap unless you compare him to the top 3.

It's the 5th inning and Pena already has a double, triple, and homer

Pena's performance puts the Astros in a nice position. If you keep Correa you have a solid trade piece to be part of a package to land an ace type pitcher. If you let Correa walk you might have your SS of the future ready to go.

Jeremy Pena in AAA now is hitting .342 with nearly an 1.100 OPS

Crazy to think if Pena had been healthy all season he may have been a Top 50 MLB prospect by this point.

I can’t think of many players to come back from a significant injury and rampage like this.

ETA: He actually started 1-14 in the 3 games he played in August. Since September 1, he’s hitting .417 with a 1.357 OPS.

FanGraphs has him at 43rd. Though, their list is mostly removing promotions, adding draft picks, and handling the guys that have drastically changed their stars.

Please tell me that he is a PLUS Defensive SS that's suddenly found his stroke and not an adequate Defensive PLUS hitting SS who is recovering his stroke.

He was a glove first prospect. He's a solid defender.
