Nothing to do with Sam Darnold. Carolina is currently the best defense in the league going up against a rookie QB that will probably turn the ball over at least 3 times. It really doesn't matter what Sam Darnold does in this game. I fear for Davis Mills. Not the game you want him to have his first start in. The Panthers were all over the Jameis last week. Every snap multiple dudes in his face. While he may not be the best qb he had no chance.
Moneyline is the way to go tonight. It’s a good bet. I wouldn’t want to mess with the spread, but I can’t see any way that this guy loses his money.
Panthers won against the Jets only by 5 who looked horrible against the Pats. Then they beat on Jameis who was overhyped from week 1. Too early to tell who exactly the Panthers are. Maybe Mills comes out hot from the home crowd. Safe bet might be the over since prime time overs are perfect this season so far and I can see Mills throwing some picks deep in his own field.
Jameis unwillingness to check down has always been his downfall. He likes to chuck it and mistakes compounded. I actually have faith in what Kelly draws up for Mills and I think they will get pretty creative. And it does matter what Sam Darnold does... he has been turnover prone his entire career (albeit short one) and his O-Line isn't good at all. That will allow the Texans to stay in the game.
Yeah, I like the over. Panthers pretty overrated IMO. Risky game to bet on too because I don't trust Darnold and you can't trust a rookie in his first start.
