It happens in pro golf from time to time. Johnny Miller claimed he was never the same after he did a lot of strength work (running around his ranch), after his last major in 1975. Killed his otherworldly touch with his irons. He claimed that, at his peak, he was able to put his iron shots within a foot left or right of his desired line, and within a yard of distance. Anyway, he comes back to the Tour in early 1976 with about 5 more pounds of muscle, and his touch was gone.

Why not have the same effect be true in basketball? Especially for long range shots like House takes (>65% of his shots are 3s, this year). The solution is gym time. I hope House finds his touch again. Miller never did.

Maybe explains why Durant is a 50/40/90 shooter who can't bench 185 lbs

Had a similar thing happen when I played ball in highschool. Keeping lean and cut was fine, but the second I started putting on more muscle than I was used to, my jumpshot would take a hit. And considering my jumpshot was my one of my only desirable traits, well...

House needs a better trainer if he’s seriously worried about the strength training affecting him. Honestly, my guess is it may either be more that his shoulder isn’t 100%, it’s mental, there’s some regression to the mean going on, and/or he isn’t being left as wide open as he was earlier in the season.

Looking at his game logs, since he’s returned, he’s taken 4 or fewer 3’s in 5 of the 7 games he’s played in. Prior to this last absence, there were only 2 games where he took 4 or fewer 3’s (the Miami blowout where he only played 19 minutes and the New Orleans game where he got hurt early and only played 11 minutes). In the other two games since he returned, he hit 3 of 8 3’s against Toronto and 3 of 10 vs Sacramento. So, the problem isn’t that he can’t hit 3’s anymore...it’s that he isn’t shooting them as much right now.

Maybe a system of forced 3 kills some players game’s because it’s not national way of playing R Anderson comes to mind. Yes it’s the same shot but mentally it’s not in their normal shot selection so it’s not natural. Then the team is stat driven so unfortunately unmade shots makes stats go down...
Some players must be thinking and not just playing... it’s the system but it’s not my shot... I won’t make this... if I don’t shot I will be benched... it’s not my shot... if a think it’s to late... shoot, shoot...

I been chucking threes for over 20 years. I would love to play in this system and most of them would be open but I get your point. You just need unconscious chuckers like Green, Harden, Gordon.

plenty players in the league who wouldn’t mind this system but Morey doesn’t find them.

Personally I think he’s doin too much versus what’s expected of him. He has open shots but he dribble drivers a lot to get the offense moving and make the extra pass. I don’t think he does that for lack of confidence either. He’s just trying to make the offense better. I like what I seen from house this season. We need more playmakers.

He needs to focus on his 3-D role first and foremost. Once he performs that at high level THEN he can start adding more to his plate, like creating for others.

Poor excuse IMO, still think we need upgrade at 3 or 4 spot.

Man, hearing these bum NBA rappers just makes me want to give our very own super talented Houston Rapper DHouse more luv

House is a 2-way player, he's got game on the court AND on the mic.

Danuel House with the hook for Htine legend Paul Wall.

OMG, we had enough trouble with him and the ladies. Don't need him to be a 2-way player as well

Binary would be a limiting him just a bit.

I don't think House would have any problems finding some love inside the doghouse.

I'd turn in house for two shipping crates, inside of which I would put Wall and Gordon, and then subsequently ship them out of town.

Every time I see his name, I hope it's a thread about him having been traded.
