Mills is terrible. He is nowhere near ready for the NFL. Let's go get Malik Willis.

Texans will lose today 42-17 and Mills will be out of the league by the start of the 2023 season.

This is a Kahale Warring-type pick.

Hopefully this is an anti-jinx, but I don't see it.

Edit (1/9/22): for history sake, this thread was originally titled "Davis Mills will be out of the league in 2 years."

I’m right there with you he looks like hot garbage he’s very methodical he does not look fluid like he did in his college tape he’s just not willing to take a chance and just go for it he’s too scared and he’s playing like it

Yes he got hurt on a simple running play where he went in for a touchdown but he wasn’t even touched and hurt his hamstring…It’s a shame because I think we really had a chance in the game if he stayed healthy Tyrod been a great pleasant surprise it’s just his health

He clearly doesn't know the playbook, which is just sad. I want to chalk it up to nerves and say maybe if he can settle down he can be a fringe QB in the league, but he definitely looks overwhelmed.

Apparently if a rookie QB doesn't look good after suddenly being elevated to play in a game against a good team, he's a bust and has no future.

Some of you keyboard GMs are so kneejerk.

"Zach Wilson threw 4 INTs against the Pats today. Jets need to give up on him immediately."

He looks better as he's settled down, but not knowing the playbook is inexcusable. Especially for a Stanford guy that supposedly played in a pro system. That's what I'm disappointed in. Not the picks or the fact that he's all nerves and playing in slow motion.

Probably should, no idea how Wilson went number 2. He had 1 good year in college + he plays for the jets.

At this point, I don't think any QB will do well with the Jets.

Darnold was pretty much labeled a bust - so much so that the Jets gave up on him and shipped him to Carolina.

Panthers are doing pretty darn well right now with Darnold under center.

I still stand by my initial thoughts. Physically he can play, arm and legs play in this league with plus size.
Can he play “quarterback” is to be seen

Stick with Tyrod another year. Keep him in the pocket. Get your QB in 2023 when there is a worthwhile crop to choose from. Forcing a QB in this draft for need would be a mistake.

    Davis ain’t it.

The strat is to just draft a QB every year until you have one.

While we shouldn't reach for a QB we should find a way to draft one in the first 3 rounds every year.

He clearly botched a couple handoffs by turning the wrong way. He also hit Cooks on the back with the ball. Wasn't playing fast at all.

All those things are indicative of not knowing the playbook. The playing slow may just be nerves. The other two are bad signs.

Mills really does have long term potential, but he has NO business being even a backup right now. He’s just not anywhere close to ready. The Texans have put him in a bad spot. He simply isn’t NFL ready right now, and he might not ever be, but if he had the benefit of sitting and learning for a couple years it might be different. Throwing him out there now though will probably ruin him.
