I was in the pro Casey camp because of what happened in last year's bowl game, but I don't get to see them everyday in practice. Casey just seems like more of a gamer. He makes quicker decisions in game situations that can't be simulated in practice. He can also run a little bit, which opens things up for Bijan and the passing game. Card may end up the better pro quarterback but Thompson would probably let us win more games short term.

It’s interesting because the reports out of camp was that Card got through his reads and passes out faster. But if the OL continues like it does, Casey might be the better choice if he’s willing to tuck it and run to get ourselves through more manageable situations.

maybe this 'he's a gamer' not a practice person theory could be true.
I know the O line is sucking, but Card looked shook. I don't mind if he throws an interception, but at least try to let your receivers fight for it.

Casey should do great against Rice. We'll see about Tech and TCU.

At least Sarkasian is willing to pivot unlike Herman.

It's just perplexing that he got it wrong to begin with. Casey was the obvious pick.

Exactly and after the previous coach got fired for not pivoting for the better players.

You may be right. Isn't it hard to tell against a team like Rice? There are so many levels to college football and Rice is on a very low one.

Based on what? Casey had all of spring and training camp to pull himself away but never did for whatever reason. Card looked pretty good against a Top 25 ULL team and don’t think anyone was saying Sark made the wrong choice after that game. Obviously we ran into a buzz saw the week after but so many things went wrong in that game.

That being said, I have a lot of confidence in Casey.

what are you basing Casey’s spring on? The $9.95ers are full of **** a lot of the time. I don’t buy their bullshit about Casey’s spring and summer. They’re just passing along Sark talking points.

Basing it on the fact that Casey didn’t win the job despite getting majority of 1st team snaps during spring camp, spring game and first part of fall camp.

But to say he was the obvious pick is a bit much. He looked good yesterday but its Rice. Card also looked good vs a ranked ULL team. I hope you and Sark are right though.

From what they were saying on LHN, Casey is really CHILL as a player doesn't get too hyped up - sometimes coaches gravitate to the more vocal players and can overlook those that are quiet by more productive.

Warren Moon is a great example when he graduated college.

There is no such thing as "winning the job". The coach picks who he thinks is better. I don't believe Casey was great when he played last year, great when he's played this year but somehow bad in between? Sark made the wrong call. Casey hasn't changed as a QB since fall camp.

I think the problem is that fans imagine that if they read it on a paid site then it must be true. There is a lot of good info but you need to know what to take with a grain of salt and all that BS they were writing about Casey seemed to match Sark talking points. People take those non-recruiting reports way too seriously.

Pease correct me if you were personally at all the practices and saw it with your own eyes. If not, I don't buy it.

You’re going off a game and a half of football really, the one full game being against Rice. Could be wrong but don’t believe you were saying Sark made the wrong call after ULL.
