The first trailer has finally arrived for filmmaker Guillermo del Toro’s new adaptation of William Lindsay Gresham’s 1946 novel “Nightmare Alley” which opens in cinemas on December 17th. Bradley Cooper stars as a manipulative carnival worker who falls in love with a mysterious, dangerous psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett). The noir thriller marks del Toro’s first directorial effort since the Best Picture Oscar win for “The Shape of Water”. Finally, a trailer that doesn't give the entire movie away. I can't tell if it's good or bad but I'll watch. EDIT: I guess that's why it's called a teaser.
lol wut I thought Shape of the Water was overrated but liked Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy and Pacific Rim. Will be interested in how he will incorporate his monster/creature fetish into this one.
I want to see it. I saw the trailer yesterday and though it looked interesting. But Willam Defoe's faux hick accent is killing me. Its like he just decided to stretch and flatten a few "A" and sounds and lean into every fifth "r" sound (but definitely not more than half) but otherwise speak normally. Its beyond terrible. Especially for a so-called "serious" actor with some gravitas.
